UCLA was going to make Rick Barnes pay his own buyout from UT if he took the job.

I just can't figure out why UCLA doesn't act like a big boy program.

They have a terrible AD who has been there forever and is bulletproof for some reason. An RG situation.

Talk about sleeping giant. If UCLA got the right leadership they would could be a powerhouse in multiple sports.

This is just interesting. Curious if Buzz Williams was cued in on a possible change in AD's before accepting the A&M job?

"On Wednesday, ESPN confirmed that Scott Woodward was leaving Texas A&Mto become the new athletic director at LSU. Earlier Wednesday, LSU announced that Joe Alleva was stepping down as AD and transitioning into a new role at the university. Alleva had been the Tigers' athletic director since July 2008."

Wow, I don't see why Beilein would join a dumpster fire like the Cavs

Michigan, please bring back Brian Ellerbe, Tommy Amaker or someone who can achieve that level of success

Every time people would talk about wishing all the other Big Ten teams well, wanting all the other Big Ten teams to be great so Illinois can beat the best, blah, blah...I get where you are coming from, but I always wanted the other Big Ten teams to suck. That stretch Illinois had in the early 2000s, look at where some of the other Big Ten programs were at. I sure enjoyed that more as an Illini fan than this era where seemingly every Big Ten program has a good coach and makes it so hard to move back up the pecking order.

Though I will say in the other best stretch of Illini basketball of my lifetime, the 80s, the Big Ten did have some excellent coaches and programs and Illinois was able to compete with them. At this point though, I'm all for Michigan taking a big, big step back. Please screw up this upcoming hire

Their two commits for this fall are Jalen Wilson and Cole Bajema, both forwards. I wonder if either will back out.

Castleton?
Didn't think Holyfield was an all-Big type player but he fit our biggest need and was finally a player to fit the system. Did notice he is listed as a SF on VC for TT. Wonder if that made a difference as he was definitely a PF defensively for us. Next hope is Kouma comes and is further along than we think ala Giorgi. Makes the miss on Liddell even worse.
