Below or above, I do not know. All I care for - at this point in time - is that we are better than last year and we show it on the field. Would like to be in a bowl game too. And, finally, be better the next year.

Here goes a video with Daniel Baker working out with ab and other top prospects in college football. Best wide out in college football is also there Jerry Judy.

I like the little conversation around the 5:05 mark.

So, above average across the board (well above average in most categories) except for TE where we are marginally below average. If true, we should be in contention for the league title.o_O

This is based on starters, injuries could destabilize this

Need more reports about Williams killing it. Yeah, I get that it's super early, but, dadgummit, you'll never take my dreams away!

Definitely a lot of optimism there. Defense has a "B" overall grade and Offense has "B-" grade. Overall grade of a weak B seems about right but is a best case scenario.

"A" teams on the schedule (hope for not being blown out):
Wisconsin
Michigan

"A-" teams on the schedule (hope to appear somewhat competent in a lopsided loss):
Iowa
Nebraska

"B+" teams on the schedule (hope for an upset, although unlikely)
NW
Mich State

"B" teams on the schedule (hope for a competitive game):
Purdue

"B-" teams on the schedule (Illini win or lose faith):
Minny
Rutgers

"C+" teams on the schedule (If Illini lose, time to panic)
EMU
UConn
Akron

Path to 6 wins involves consistenly playing up to a "B" grade and beating Purdue, NW, or Michigan State.

I would flip EMU and Rutgers. EMU beat Purdue and lost 4/6 by 3 or less. Very well coached, hard nosed team.

I can't give our QB's above a D until they earn it.

The fact that Antonio Brown was impressed by Barker doing a foot-speed drill, (for those who couldn't watch the video, AB was watching the drills and blurted out "That tight end!"clearly impressed, to which someone off screen immediately replied "Illinois!"), certainly gets my attention. I hope he has a breakout year!

That player was Jerry jeudy. Wide receiver for the university of Alabama. Could be the best player in next year draft

Personally, i don’t get it but Minny fans have a lot of hype for this upcoming season. They think they are an 8 win team. I’m aware we throttled them but they like what they have.

Wins: first 3, Rutgers, an upset of Wisconsin at homecoming, and beating NW to become bowl eligible. Wisconsin’s style of play is one we matchup with FAR better than the likes of Purdue and Nebraska.

Well, they won 7 games last year having an arguably younger team than Illinois. After firing their DC immediately after the Illini blew them out, they finished 3-1, beating by 22 points or more Purdue, Wisconsin and Georgia Tech. What I don't get are Illini fans pegging this game as a likely win, although I admit to not having looked at who they lost.

Slight sidenote ... I officially move to Chicago the first week of August! For any locals here, where do you prefer to watch games? I guess I don't need it to be an "Illini bar" (and sometimes might just go where my friends already want to go?), but damn I don't want to be stuck in a bar explicitly devoted to a rival Big Ten school. :( Quick Google search makes it look like Joe's and Schoolyard are about it? :( GOD, I cannot wait until we are somewhat competitive again ... some day ... then the situation will get a lot less pathetic.

So had the chance to speak a receiver recently and word on the street is they believe Isaiah will be at the helm season opener.. he who's name I will not say for obvious reasons also said himself and a few other receivers as well as the backfield were and are thoroughly impressed by what Isaiah is able to do already....
If this rings to be true then I am excited for the first time in a long time...

Oh, how I want to believe! If Williams is Randle El redux, we're golden.

Gotta be an offensive player, right? Maybe the road grader from Trinity?
