I'm a big Giorgi fan and would love nothing else but to see him be successful at the NBA level, but this is a bit of a stretch IMO. He is an elite teammate, personality, and work ethic. There probably isn't a better "glue" guy that Giorgi. Not shy, funny, and overall wants what's best for the program. He's a fan's dream and a great story.

However, as an NBA prospect, it's tough to see it. 6'9" let's say a true 240-250lbs when he leaves. His game will have evolved to where he will have a good all around game. Stat sheet will say: 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists per game by his senior year. Can score with a soft right or left hand and can shoot the 3 at a 31% clip. Not great, but keeps defenses honest. Is mobile, but not an elite athlete and doesn't play above the rim. That to me reads like a professional athlete abroad in Europe, Australia or China. Think about the position he would have to guard. He's a 3 in the NBA. Zion, Draymond, KD, maybe even a Bobby Portis...who is even taller and bigger that Giorgi. Just look at Tyler Hansbrough...Amazing college player with much the same game if not greater than GB and he had a tough time in the

I really hope I eat crow on this one, but I'm not sure your enthusiasm is founded.
Thinking more like a Kevin Love type player but dependent on his shooting ability. Won't make it shooting 31% but not going to predict his percentage, just saying if he develops it he is a NBA candidate. Believe there are a lot of players in the NBA with equivalent athletic ability. Seems like most people are judging this by leaping ability rather than overall coordination.

Every player in the nba is insanely coordinated and skilled. What separates is athleticism combined with insane skill level and coordination.

Assuming Kofi leaves after next year, Kalkbrenner would fit in very nicely. BU’s D would be amazing with him near the basket.
Why do you think Kofi is all of the sudden a one n done? This type of logic that its see o easy to be a lottery pick just kills me. How many one n dones have we ever had? It's crazy talk to think so many young players are one and dines when it just isn't likely. Cliff, Bragg or even Ayo arent nor us it likely Kofi is either..

Okay, perhaps I should have said IF Kofi is a one and done. I have no idea if or when he’ll go pro. And you’re not the first to call me crazy.

Is that your wish list order, most likely to land order or just a list??? I would be interested in both of the other two if it is just a list.

It was just a list.

I think we wind up only taking 3 because even though Kofi wants to go pro, I don’t know if he will be ready. If he goes then we will take 4.

Most likely to land: Miller, Kalkbrenner, Watson

Wish list: Miller, Kalkbrenner, Curbelo

If we take 4 wish list: Miller, Kallbrenner, Curbelo, Jaylin Williams

Give me Miller and Kalkbrenner all day and twice on Sunday.

Giorgi will play all four years, when he leaves he will be the most beloved Illini ever (sorry Dee), he will play 10 years in the league and win 6th Man OTY in his 4th year with the Dallas Mavericks.

Gotta run, my Delorean is double parked.

And you know what, I was half way to the dealership to buy a DeLorean.
And then, poof, they were gone. Too bad.
Instead, I, for the once in my life, bought a bottom of the line, newly imported Porcshe 924S. The smile on my face could not have been any wider.

first, I love Giorgi, but he is not an nba talent. he's maybe 6-9, 230 without the necessary athleticism , mobility is a
negative at that level. will need to prove his three point shot. G., play four years here, win a big ten championship,
be the pride of C-U, bulk up to a 260 lb. power forward and make a very nice living in Europe.
