The new app that consumers should use is the FOX Sports app and FoxSports.com/live.

He revealed that in August 2019 that streaming of Big Ten Network content will no longer be available through BTN2Go.com, FOXSportsGo.com, the BTN2Go app, or the FOX Sports Go app.
The new app that consumers should use is the FOX Sports app and FoxSports.com/live.
McGillicuddy said the transition had to with FOX's sale of FOX Sports Go. He said the transition will be completed in August 2019.

To use the Fox Sports Apps does that require one having to have access to one of the major cable services?
Will it be available on any of the major streaming services e.g. FUBO, Sling, Hulu, YouTurbe????

I followed the link and yes, it requires authorization through your TV provider - in my case, YouTubeTV which has been outstanding and much cheaper than traditional cable....

Dan, I think it would be good to have a thread just for How to watch the Illini . Personally, I haven't figured out my options for 19-20 season, and would like to have a place to discuss.

I'm kind of assuming it will be the same for various sports, but maybe that's a bad assumption.

Great idea...help fans find games, set up a permanent plan to see games and not muddy up other threads.

The harder they make it to watch these games, them more likely I am to stream them. I try, but there's only so much I can do.

How is youtube tv outstanding? I was just looking at it, and it's $50/month plus has advertising within programs.

What do you mean by advertising within programs? Commercials? It is live TV, so it has commercials just like live TV through traditional cable. At $50 per month, you get a really good channel lineup for less than traditional cable TV.

I stream/record a lot of content and can't remember the last time I watched commercials. If it's a live sporting event, I expect commericials, but I was under the impression that it is also true of other (not live) content. If it's exactly the same as traditional cable (you're better off recording it first), that's fine I suppose.

This will make it easier to watch because they are reducing the number of apps. Instead of using both BTN2GO and the FOX Sports app for network broadcasts from FOX/FS1/BTN, you will only need the FOX Sports app. I think that app is available on all streaming devices as well.

YouTube TV is good functionally, but if you take advantage of a "special offer", I suggest you take and keep a screenshot of the confirmation. Otherwise, you too may get treatment like;

I'm going with Hulu this year.

The nice thing about the steaming services is the ability to switch instantaneously - vs the traditional cable providers. Hopefully that keeps them competitive in price and content. YouTubeTv just had a better sports lineup when i cut the cord. But I'll always look at the changing alternatives.

I bundled my internet and tv with AT&T the season before last, and am locked in for another month. Probably won't take the chance of a 2 year deal again with how fast things are changing.

If anyone is shopping around and finds a deal they recommend, please post it....TIA

Once I can convince my wife, I will cut the cord. My AT&T/DIRECTV contract is expiring too. I believe that I will have to go with Comcast for the internet, AT&T is no good out here 35 miles outside of Chicago. I had Comcast before, it was significantly better. Then, I am thinking of taking advantage of the free week with Hulu, YouTube, etc.
