After landing Dante today, Oregon now putting the full-court press on with Addison Patterson. I fully expect him to end up there. Oregon going to be wind up with a couple nice pick ups between Dante, Patterson, and likely Scottie Barnes.

I am pretty confident on Miller. He is cutting down to 6 pretty soon, then will cut it to 3 is what I have heard. Unless something changes, I heard it would come down to Louisville, Illinois, and Arizona State. Neither of them scare me with Miller.

Watson needs to focus on the academics, then he can focus on recruiting. Would love to have him if he can get cleared.

Curbelo landed a Kansas offer today, they will be a player for him for sure. Especially when they miss on Miller, Love, and others.

Kalkbrenner has taken a lot of visits recently. Not too worried about him either. He really likes Stanford, but Stanford likes Ben Carlson more than Kalkbrenner and Kalkbrenner doesn't want to be the 2nd best big in a class.

Staff likes Karim Mane, hopefully they can get him on campus. I think he could be a great piece if we miss on Curbelo.

Staff also keeping tabs on Dylan Cardwell, and Jaylin Williams.

I was just comparing GB to potentially being as good as Happ. I mean i realize he cant fake\, shoot, pass and get around people like Larry Bird could! Fakes work all the time in the NBA., Players pump fake and get fouled all the time. Happ may male the NBA and if he does he will get fouled when he fakes. Ge has played against future NBA guys and been fouled a often.

Glad GB should be here four years and i hope we add more bigs like him.

Happ has no chance in today's NBA without a good to great 3pt shot, that's the facts, same with GB. The NBA today forces everyone to shoot from outside.

Why do you say that? I don't follow NBA much, but Rui was just a lottery pick and didn't shoot the 3. Sure he has a 41% but he made only 36 attempts all year.

For comparison sake, Rui was 5 for 26 the year before, and Giorgi was 5 for 30 this year.

Brandon Clark, Sekou Doumbouya, nor Grant Williams are a 3pt threat, and were 1st round picks.

After a quick browse it seems like only 2 or 3 PF are actual shooters. Everyone else is in the category of making one 3 pointer every 2 or 3 games. At that point is there a difference between 30% and 40%?

As a side note, my total guess is that Happ wasn't drafted because he did not improve much in 4 years. He was great, but the same player his freshman year as he was his senior year.

Can you shed some light on Watson, jr ??
I am around. I have a newborn baby that's why I've been M.I.A. & I just moved 3 blocks from Morgan Park. I went to a few games last year. I think I that Watson was a good player. Undersized. He not much bigger than Tyler Ulis. I know they are different players, but I'm just comparing their statures. The only way I would take Watson is in a package deal with Miller. He didnt look Big Ten caliber to me. Now he has blown up over the summer & he is definitely worth monitoring since they will be at Morgan Park anyways.

Thanks and congratulations!! Some people consider Watson and Miller as Nike's EYBL best backcourt. Hard to turn that down. I think Watson lead the EYBL in assists. He also broke out at PJ, not a bad place to do so.

Kind of hard to believe that a guy that lead the EYBL in assists and had a pile of steals as well, isn't B1G worthy. But as you point out, he blew up over the summer, so yeah, give us an update if you go to see an MP game.

I think Happ's issue is with FTs, not 3 pt. shots.

Agreed, which is why I think Wisconsin will be better this year without him...he commanded the ball and thus the team was stagnant at times. Probably a good fit for B1G but limited as far as game away from basket, limited as far as overall athleticism, and limited as overall skill set...that is why he went undrafted.

Because all those guys have high level athleticism. GB and Happ are not jumpers, they are not fast. You must either be an elite athlete or a good shooter to make in today's NBA.

And ideally both.

Indeed they were. Also, Happ was first team all conference and an all-american. If Wisconsin manages to do some addition by his subtraction, they must be teaching some of that common core math.

They will be fundamentally more sound, more balanced and will still be one of the better teams in the B1G this year...in conference we shall see as the schedules aren't out yet. Davison/Reuvers/Pritzl/Potter will all excel this year. Reuvers is the key.

I definately will keep tabs because he was quiet at the games I have seen.

Yes I have seen quotes about them being the best backcourt. I'll be watching his senior year to see how it unfolds. If he keeps blowing up who knows what offers he might get. Illinois was in on him early, hopefully he keeps projecting well.
