Illinois on the road vs non-conference opponents: 1 victory over the past 20 games. Go Illini

617 yards of total offense per game! 335 yards rushing per game!

50 points a game, somehow, doesn't do justice to how bad they were.

If Corbin doesn't go super saiyan and put up 300 rushing yards against this team, I'll be disappointed.

I wonder if that guy will be betting all his winnings on Illinois this week?

I'm still irrationally upset about that 2008 WMU game in Detroit.

Me, too. We traveled to Ford Field for that one. Their Coach Bill Cubit and their wide receiver, Greg Jennings (former Packer), beat our Zooker, Locksley and Juice led team 23-17 (?). It was one of the most disappointing games I’ve ever attended. I’m hoping this Illini team lives up to its potential on the road and dominates UConn.

Corbin is listed as questionable (by the handicappers) Got dinged up in the second series that he played in, didn’t return. We should beat them regardless, but I would love to see him get untracked. If it’s even close to an issue though, save him for EMU.

The only way we beat UCONN by fewer points than our victory over Akron, is if Lovie pulls the starters even earlier.

I was impressed by Brown, Bonner & Sims yesterday. If Corbin's got any kind of issue, no need for him to see the field.

Yeah, our depth at RB is really good.

It'll be interesting to see how Peters develops in Game 2. As others have mentioned, he sailed a few end zone passes high. They were completely uncatchable, but I'd rather see that than have him forcing passes into coverage and turning it over. He seems like an ideal Lovie Smith type of player; calm, conservative, low-risk. His slide at the end of one of his early runs was an NFL-worthy thing of beauty.

I thought Smalling had a really good game as well. We really need him to have a strong season.

I'm guessing either Brown or Bonner hits 125 yards.

Akron is a better team than UConn. Illini roll. UConn doesn’t get on the scoreboard.

Points are irrelevant. It all depends on how Lovie works the depth chart.

I'm not sure it's all that irrational. It was on while I was getting ready to go to a friend's wedding and it completely soured my mood going in.

Well my question is Akron better than Wagner? I think by more than the 3 points UCONN just beat them by. Akron is probably better than UCONN. But it is on the road. Long way from home. I think we still roll. Similar score. 42-3 give or take a TD on each side.

There is not a single player on UConn's team who would be a starter for the Fighting Illini. Their roster is glaringly weak. The only way the game might stay competitive is if the Illini don't play smart. The players are presumably pumped-up after the big win against Akron, but this will be a new game. We need to come out focused and throttle UConn early (which will lead to valuable playing time in the second half for lots of people).

My daydream is we win the toss, take the ball, and return it for a touchdown.

Game over.

On our ensuing kickoff, they mishandle the ball, we score a touchdown.

Rout on.

CBSSN does not seem to be on my DirecTV., it was dimmed on my Guide. So I was not able to see Purdue nor Miznoz. I don't want to have to buy yet another sports package just to appease CBS.

Yeah, I don’t have it through Xfinity, so I’ll be going to a bar to watch it.
