I think the Illini show their stuff in this game against EMU. I was not surprised that the Illini hit a little bump in the road last week. I also believe Connecticut played their best game in years hoping to upset a B1g team. I was not happy with the pick six, but I expected it to happen soon since Peters was staring down receivers against Akron, but no bad things happened in that game, it was just a matter of time. The good news is that most of the mistakes are correctable. With the defense only giving up one touchdown in two games, including a road game, we should feel pretty good about this team. Are the Illini a great all time team this year, no, but they can step up against Eastern Kentucky who just got throttled by a Kentucky team who is not as good as the Illini. The comeback by the Illini was very good to see and shows that this team doesn't hang its head and lose. They became the fighting illini on Saturday, and not the lie down illini as Dee Brown used to say. My predicted score in the next game is 38-16 with the Illini going into Big Ten conference play against Nebby undefeated and emerging 4-0. I do not think the Nebraska squad can stop the illini offense. I believe the illini defense is much improved and will not give more than 2 touchdowns and might be similiar to UConn, on toughdown and some field goals. Lots of turnovers in this one and hopefully a pick six by Hobbs. This is an 8-4 team.

Your lips to the Football god's ears.

After what we saw on Sat i will take any win any time this year

I agree with that! If our level of play isn't higher than it was vs. Uconn, there aren't many (any?) wins left on the schedule. But I think we'll play better.

EMU is going to score some points though. Our pass defense just isn't good enough yet.

With the announcement today that Nebraska will be a night game, and all the excitement that come with that (plus being our B1G opener), is anyone worried about us overlooking this one?

I love the mindset here, but even Penn State last year wasn't close to a sell out, at least from actual attendance.
Got me thinking, would Nebraska being undefeated going into this game draw a bigger crowd locally or the fact that they already lost so its increases the possibility of winning the game draw more people? Just a thought
I hope the Nebraska fans donā€™t out number ours. They could well be louder though.

hopefully we have Reggie. Without him and the way our pass defense plays so loose, I think EMU could win.

Im going to say since its home and Im sure players and coaches are aware this is a must win, ILL 30 EMU 24.

This makes a lot of sense. Lets hope we don't have a stadium that sounds like an away game
To be fair, if you lived in Nebraska you'd be happy to get out of state for a football weekend too. You've got three things to do on a weekend in Nebraska, you can eat prime rib, you can go to a football game, and you can catch a rodeo. There's a reason why every other family you see at Sunday brunch has nine children. This is not a joke.

Has anyone ever done the Pregame VIP upgrade to get access to the field? I was thinking about doing it for my son on Saturday.

Yes, like the Diesel did back in the day. Act like you have been there before!
I'm a big fan of acting like you've been there before. I'm old school like that. That being said, there was no taunting whatsoever, so unsportsmanship penalty should not be called. That was horse crap!

A lot of people in Nebraska also like to watch corn grow

yes we did it for the Akron game. it was cool to see the players up close (Body By Lou has made a difference) and to be on the field beforehand. part of the tunnel greeting the players was fun. my friend brought his 5 year old daughter, she did handstands on the field with the cheerleaders so it was cool. BEAT EASTERN MICHIGAN.

Agree with your view of the rule but not a reason to take a 15 yarder.
