yes we did it for the Akron game. it was cool to see the players up close (Body By Lou has made a difference) and to be on the field beforehand. part of the tunnel greeting the players was fun. my friend brought his 5 year old daughter, she did handstands on the field with the cheerleaders so it was cool. BEAT EASTERN MICHIGAN.

Illini vs Hurons in a somewhat non-PC battle.

No that's rule #2. Rule #1 is never bet against your own team. It's terrible karma.

That's silly. Let's say I bet that Illinois wouldn't make a bowl game this year. If they do, I lose money, but hey we made a bowl game. If they don't make a bowl, I can use the money I won to wipe away my tears.

Everybody has their own rules. You certainly have no need to follow my rules, but I'm going to.

I predicted a somewhat close Akron game and was off big time. I didn't predict a score for the UConn game, and it was a lot closer than we would have liked. Guess I need to predict a score for this game to get the Illini back on track. 33-17 good guys

Illini 31-23, Rod and Lovie are holding somethings back for Cornhuskers! I'm predicting either no Reggie or just a little. Then next Saturday you'll see Reggie and IW in possibly 10 formations. My guess.

Beyond the obvious, would love to see this game get out-of-hand early to continue providing playing time for some of the backups, such as QBs (Robinson, sprinkling of Williams??) and especially the o-line. Would also love time for the second-string in the secondary but I am not sure that exists.

With the announcement today that Nebraska will be a night game, and all the excitement that come with that (plus being our B1G opener), is anyone worried about us overlooking this one?
with the way the UCONN game went absolutely not

Werner is assuming it was a concussion since he didn't have any medical devices on him after the game. Still pretty unsure about his availability

The passing yards from EMU last week is definitely a concern. Part of the hope in Illinois' passing defense is they shut down Nelson (Akron) who then ripped off 300+ yards and two TD passes against UAB last week.

If we don't get some bodies back in the secondary, EMU is gonna gash us big time with their passing game.

It looked to me like Adams had a stinger from the tackle, not a concussion. He hit the guy with his shoulder/arm, not his head.

I’ll take any win (3-0 with Nebraska coming to town for a night game?!), but I’d really like to see us come out with an intense effort. Punch EMU in the throat and let them know they’re in Big Ten Country. An “easy” win would probably good for an extra 1-2k in the stands vs. Nebraska, IMO. If we were ever going to go bowling, a W at home vs. EMU was a given ... heck, a W at home vs. Nebby might need to be...

Take care of business, boys!

Eastern Michigan 14
Illinois 34

I hope you are right, but with no speed in the secondary, I’m hopeful for a win. I’m more inclined to think we play a great game against Nebraska and a mediocre game against emu
