Finn Schirmer with 5 TDS in first half of Marengo’s game tonight. I believe he ended up with 6 for the game.

Success begets success (unless you're Bruce Weber, lol). The way our transfers are faring, should pay great dividends in the transfer market. We have all the trappings that transfers want. Why not Illinois?

In a single post, you've included the the two least effective marketing phrases in history: "Bruce Weber" and "Why not Illinois?" ;)

But in all seriousness, I can't imagine a better success story for transfers that the start of our season. Maybe Lovie can be the free agency captain of NCAA football.

I think Lincoln Riley has that title on lock at Oklahoma with 2 (potentially 3) Heisman winners coming from transfers

This. Hopefully, our transfers' success continues all season long. Lovie's NFL pedigree certainly helps, as does his first class, no BS reputation. If we establish ourselves as an alluring destination for top tier transfers, that will help. A lot.

Schirmer could be a guided missile in a couple of years. I know we're being very selective from here on in and Schirmer's rating is low (who cares?), but I really want him.
I agree with you and would like him on board as well. He wants to carry the rock though. So, it will be interesting to see what happens. The fact he has not yet committed, worries me. Unless he just tears it up on offense and Illinois says he will get every chance at RB, have my doubts he comes here to play OLB.

FWIW, I'm 100% ok with starting him out at RB, if that's what it takes.
