FEI is up for the week. We're 93rd.

They give percentage chances of us finishing with various records.

We're at 1% for 7-5, 4% for 6-6, 22% for 5-7, 40% for 4-8, 30% for 3-9, and 3% for 2-10.

93rd in FEI, 71st in SP+. The big difference is the offensive rating. SP+ has us 54th, FEI has us 100th. I know which one more closely matches my eye test.

Greetings!

I’ve been visiting Champaign for about the past 9 years for Ebertfest. I’ve got family that works at the University, so I’ve been given the tour numerous times and I’ve always wanted to go to a game at Memorial Stadium! With Michigan visiting this year, I thought it was the perfect excuse to finally make the trip down!

Any advice for a first time visiting fan? Good lots for tailgate? Spots to eat/drink while watching the afternoon games?

Thanks!

If you have a setup you can haul in on foot, tailgating at Grange Grove, the fenced-in area immediately West of the stadium, is probably your best bet.

The campustown area on Green Street has a variety of places to grab a drink and watch the games, but my biggest advice is to eschew the need to watch football and go to dinner at Golden Harbor on Neil. Best restaurant in CU, IMO.

Black Dog Smoke & Ale House is an interesting restaurant. 1) Get there when they first open so you do not have to wait. 2) Go play golf on the Orange course 3) as suggested above Golden Harbor dinner. 4) Check scores on BigTen Wrap up. :)

Agree with ChiefGritty, Grange Grove is your best bet if you don't have an established group that you tailgate with. Always have live music. Can buy beer and food. Even with the product on the field there is still a festive atmosphere in Grange Grove.

True, you can hang out in Grange Grove even if you don't have a grill to walk in or whatever.

Illini kicker James McCourt tells Illini Maven/SI that he heard the whistles during that the timeout Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck called pre-snap Saturday to ice him on the 46-yard kick. McCourt says it "gave him a practice kick" to actually help him.

I am in the camp that icing the kicker is a stupid thing now.

If I were a kicker, I’d love another 30 seconds to a minute to make sure I get that thing lined up beautifully instead of being rushed out there during the normal play clock pace.

I think it’s better to do it sometimes. That way the player knows you might do it, you might not. If they’re waiting for it and you don’t, it might catch them off guard. If you do it and you’re out of TOs, the kicker knows you’re not gonna be able to do it again. The mental guessing game is worth more to me there.

Will Michigan put the nail in Lovie's coffin, like they did against Rutgers?
For all practical purposes I think Minnesota was the final nail in Lovie's coffin. But, I don't see Whitman pulling the trigger in-season. So I guess Lovie will be coaching the rest of the season from the grave so to speak.
