@mrwagner25: Per a source: Tuscola sophomore Jalen Quinn is taking a basketball unofficial visit to the University of Illinois this Saturday.

Just saw this. Any visit is a good one but they better focus full attention to the Curbelo on hand.

Maybe Deandre Davis could be approached? 2020 3* committed to Nebby before, decommitted. Lawrence Central kid, with some game like MHill, better ball handler by far, not as good a shooter maybe, more athletic?

Wouldn't hurt to put out feeler if staff thinks he is good enough...6'6 ball handler and slasher/shooter?

I am reasonably sure the staff understands the difference in urgency between a 2020 top 60 guy compared to a 2022 guy from down the road.

Xavier will be a major player. Hearing he is heading over there Friday for their Midnight Madness.

Steele is very well connected with Indy Heat program and Jason Delaney the 17u coach.

Xavier would be a really good landing place for him...

Purdue and Xavier in to see him tonight.

Lousiville also going to be highly involved as they are in hot pursuit of his little brother D'Ante for 2022. Just offered him tonight. Holds offer from Xavier already.

Steele is building something special over there. Will have huge success. Likely going to put Naji Marshall and Paul Scruggs in the league after this year. The KyKy Tandy kid is legit.

Steele is a legit threat on the recruiting trail too, luckily he doesn't want to recruit Chicago.

Steele knows how to get dirty with the best of them. He was right in the middle of the IDKWTI fiasco. He has been an assistant to none other than Sampscum and Sean Miller. The question is can he coach? Groce's BIL, too.

Mack left that cupboard bare and Steele exceeded expectations. He'll have Xavier in the tourney every year, they hardly ever miss the tourney.

He really wanted that Xavier job, had a ton of good offers elsewhere years before that job came open. Then again it doesn't hurt that the wife's parents are some of Xaviers biggest boosters.

Born and raised Illinois fan that ended up in Tennessee for high school and thus Tennessee for college. Was excited when Tennessee hired Cuonzo from Missouri State. He was young (40 years old when hired) and thus could still relate to the kids he was recruiting. Then the disaster began. He recruited well, but his style of basketball is painful to watch. He stifles offensive minded players in favor of a slow, half court game predicated on playing stingy defense. His philosophy is essentially "Limit their possessions and make the most of our possessions". It sucks to watch. I'd have more fun watching Chester Frazier or Ahmad Starks shoot 3's.

Why does he keep striking out on recruits? Because anyone who watches a team coached by him play wants to tear their eyes out after about 10 minutes. No one wants to play that kind of game. I'm sorry, defense is important, but it doesn't get you a highlight reel like dropping 30 points does.

we be writing stuff like that about brucie a few years ago too. coaches maturate and get better over time just like players. maybe martin found a home in como like webber in kansas. at least martin's not under ncaa scrutiny like our guy, brad.

watching from afar, it's clear that underwood is making progress with this squad. a few additions and some seasoning, they'll be more than competitive next year. for all those coach weber lovers and haters, thanks for freeing him up for us. fine coach. better man. #emaw

I don't understand.... how can you say that BU is "our" guy?? It appears that you are a Kansas State fan from previous post...

That article you linked is just stupid. Lamont Evans wasn't breaking rules to get players into OSU or S. Carolina, he was breaking rules trying to get guys to an agent AFTER school once the players went pro. So HC responsibility for something that didn't benefit the HC and didn't benefit the school, that makes a load of sense! Talk about weak reporting.
