Purdue shreds the Illini defense 41-30. I still dont have faith in the staff to coach against an offense like that. The defense will look inept as usual again. I would gladly eat crow and start to sip the Kool Aid again if they win though

If the weather keeps up I don't think this happens.

45-28 Purdue. Hopefully Lovie used last years embarrassing loss at home to motivate these guys. I just think this is a bad matchup for Illinois.

Very poor matchup for our D. Thankfully, Mother Nature is a great equalizer today. It would be a great time for the D to rise up. We should be able to run on these guys. Hopefully, Rod doesn't get fancy.

Very happy with the win last week. Immediately after we got the interception, I was screaming at the TV to get a play called. Seemed to me we should have been in more of a hurry, but it worked out. Kudos to Lovie and the team for pulling off a shocker. Elated to hear about UW's "inexplicable loss" on national TV.

If we can win today, we have a legit shot at a bowl. Two BIG wins in a row would be great. I pray we don't return to the typical football situation.

GO ILLINI!

In general, rain might cause the ball to be slick, but in the absence of wind(or an absolute deluge), receivers have a huge advantage over corners(they know their routes, corners don't). Backpedaling and breaking is a lot more difficult than making a cut and running straight. To add, it's more difficult to tackle for a team who's DBs don't tackle well to begin with. The referees do a good job of changing balls and QBs will have a towel in front to dry their hands.

What will be effected is the kicking game. Will have to score TDs to win this one.

However, these are the games where Lovie's zone scheme will help. Hopefully there are a few slips and screw ups as to where our DBs get some freebies.

Sadly:

Purdue. 35

I hope our potential recruits aren't watching ESPN College Game Day. When previewing Wisconsin vs Ohio State:

Reece......Wisconsin lost to.......Illinois???
Corso......They lost to lowly Illinois.

I know I'm being overly sensitive, but geeze, easy fellas! Lol

What do you wonder, wonder cat??

How the game will unfold for us. Chasing Purdue will end in disaster for us (Illinois Breakdown did a great overview of a play that Purdue relies on a lot to score, fake bubble screen designed to draw you in. They’ll likely run this a couple times today) but without Betiku, I don’t know how we’re gonna pressure the QB. Tough question to answer.

I dunno, I quite enjoyed when they broke down how we beat them!

Back to giving up 500+ yards. Purdue 42, Illini 21. Hope I’m wrong.
