I am not sure how much this will affect the outcome of the game, but Michigan State linebacker Joe Bachie has been ruled ineligible. He was first-team All-Big Ten last year. It certainly seems like, after years of things not going our way, we are starting to catch a few breaks (like this, the weather for the Purdue game, etc.).

I think it's just a procedural maneuver. You appeal because it may delay the suspension and you get to play at full strength for the time being.

Bachie is MSU's leading defender in multiple statistical categories, so as Martha would say, "That's a good thing!"
