Matt Mullen is such a turd. “Crowd’s still kind dead though.” Maybe now because it’s freezing, people have headed back out to their tailgate, and Rutgers resumes their usual suckiness?

Sorry, it's not a fluke when your D is absolutely ripping the ball away from their opponents. No doubt we've had a few great bounces, but this D is doing what they are being taught.
Forcing fumbles is a skill. Recovering them does have a certain degree of luck-of-the- bounce.

What is it with these types of posts? The criticism of the first half was totally called for. I don’t know how you could disagree with that. Certainly no one can complain now, but I don’t get these types of posts.
BS. Here are some of the posts:

The most Illinois thing ever. Just a bit of momentum and then it will all be flushed against an awful opponent

And yet a fluke game against Wisconsin and a game in the rain that kept Purdue's offense in check will save Lovies job. Looks like business as usual.

I'm with you Illini-Rule. I think the stars aligned the last two weeks, and now it's back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Bunch of quitters. Hope they turned off the game in the first half. Nice job defending them illinoistradition.

Have you been on social media before? Holy cow, if that’s bad, then you probably get offended by just about everything.

A "fluke" TD score is when your moderately mobile QB takes a broken play 50 yds to the house. Ours got caught at the 2.
The defense is 100% ball hawking and ripping the ball away. Those defensive scores are not flukes.
A fluke defensive score is a tipped pass falling into the hands of your D and returned for a TD.

And at the time in the game those posts were made, were they wrong?

Hardings rip was a show of strength - rb had two arms wrapped around ball, not carrying it one handed with arm extended

I think most people here are being facetious when they call it a fluke

Eh, not quite. We ripped the ball away but it bouncing directly to Nate Hobbs is 100% luck. The pick 6 isn’t luck but a better, more advanced QB never throws that ball. We can’t expect this thing to project forward towards other games against better opponents and as such, there a lot of luck there.

But I’m not complaining about it.

Ok....find some minute detail like "the bounce" to argue about if you must.

It's 100% a result of this D ripping at the ball and taking it away.

Well we did already see more advanced QBs, and they did the same thing. RE: Wisconsin. Remember the pick before with field goal??

I could break that ball down in my sleep. There’s nothing similar about that play that happened today.

looking ahead, now that we can, MSU will be missing its defensive leader for substance use
