If Kouma is at a Jr College does he not have to wait 2 yrs to transfer?

Pretty sure that depends on his academic status. If he was a "traditional" non-qualifier, I believe the answer is yes. But Kouma's case is different (international student, core class missing/not counted?), so, who knows? WAG: he qualifies for next season.

As long as he has the proper classes and grades, which UI accepts, JUCO players can transfer in after one or two playing years.

Yeah, he got the bag

Adrian (the father) earned $9.25 Million playing in the NBA. He's been an assistant coach in the NBA for years now so probably makes decent money. AJ Griffin (recent commit) is poised for a good shot at NBA money of his own. I really doubt they're being swayed by bags of cash. Duke's just a really good opportunity for AJ to get national recognition and increase his NBA / endorsement deal potential.

I assume you know this and are just being salty.

Assuming we get Hawkins, Curbelo, and Miller, what are the priorities for 2021. We have Trent and DaMonte graduating with possible NBA departures of Miller, Kofi, and ?. So we probably want to add a PG , a wing, and a big? It would seem our roster would still be pretty solid unless really depleted by transfers.

You can follow his progress HERE (They played 2 games over the weekend, but it looks like he didn't play)
Doesn't look like any stats for either game on the SPC website. They just may not have the stats available yet...Though I have no idea what the hold up might be.

Grumble grumble.

If only BU had talked to him more.
I'm just glad we're still in on Adam Miller.

I think the last couple seasons limited our ability to grab a guy like this. On the positive side, we won't have melt downs when BU doesn't catch one of his April AAU games.

1) We'll have a senior heavy team (Hutcherson, Grandison, Alan Griffin, Tevian Jones (if he stays) and GB (if he doesn't leave early which depending upon what narrative you believe) - Seniors with game experience are as valuable as a high 4 or low 5 star recruit I believe
2) You'll have curbelo with a year of experience under his belt. Not including miller here because a) he hasn't committed and b) you're assuming he's off to the NBA after his freshman year which is a little optimistic, but I'm working under your assumptions.
3) You have BBV still in the mix as a Junior
4) If Underwood's past recruiting history is to be believed to continue, he will likely recruit a top 100 freshman as well, so there's another piece there

So starting 5 without knowing anything else:
1) Curbelo
2) Alan Griffin
3) Hutcherson
4) BBV
5) GB

That's 4 upper classman and one sophomore...Pretty good line-up IMO.

Top Priority: Shooting Guard / Combo Guard
Whether we sign Miller in 2020 or not this will again be the priority for the 2021 class. Miller hopes to be a 1AD and we'll be without Trent and Ayo for sure, so we will need another scoring guard. Whether we get Miller and he stays for 2021-22 or not, the departure of Trent is going to create a need for a scoring guard. Alan Griffin, in his senior year, could partially fill that need but we'd still need another piece for depth and the future of our program.
Targets:
Landing someone like Jaden Hardy (#7 / #1 CG), Max Christie (#14 / #1SG), Malaki Branham (#25 / #3 CG), or Manny Obaseki (#30 / #4 CG) would be huge as a potential Ayo/Miller replacement. We should also be targeting players like Ahamad Bynum (#94 / #24 SG), Luke Goode (#90 / #19 SG), Will McClendon (#140 / #31 SG), or Alexis Reyes (#141 / #32 SG) to add roster depth and continuity.

Priority 2A: Wing
Our 2021-22 season looks like we'll be stacked with experience at the 3/4. We will have Alan Griffin, Tevian Jones, Austin Hutcherson, and Jacob Grandison all as Seniors. But by 2022-23 all our wings will be gone with Coleman Hawkins and BBV left at the 4 (BBV is an option at the 3 depending on his defensive quickness and 3 point scoring ability). That means we should be looking to add someone in 2021 that can develop and step up for a big role as a sophomore. It may be tricky to get any Top 50 talent here since they probably wont see a ton of minutes in 2021 but that doesn't mean we shouldn't still be recruiting.
Targets:
Landing someone like Brandon Weston (#82 / #18 SF) or Bryce Hopkins (#71 / #16 PF) would be amazing.

Priority 2B: Center
After that exhibition game, where Kofi demonstrated his ability to hit the 15 ft jumper and dominated in the paint, people may be getting nervous that the NBA could come knocking. It's not unrealistic to think Kofi might only be with us for 1-2 years and be gone by 2021-22. If it starts looking like Kofi is gone before 2021 then that would shift our 2nd priority to being our next Big Man. We don't necessarily need someone that can come in and play day 1 though since we have the option of playing Giorgi (senior) and Hamlin (junior) and we should have great depth at the 3/4 to allow Giorgi to transition back to Center.
Bernard Kouma: There's talk about Kouma still signing. If he signs in 2020 that'd require someone transferring. As long as that's not Jermaine then we'd have added depth at the 5 and wouldn't necessarily be looking to add another center in the class of 2021. I personally don't see anyone else leaving (possibly Tevian?) so I think it's more likely Kouma would come to Illinois in 2021, after 2 years at Juco, if he comes at all. In that case I would hope that Brad Underwood and his staff would keep an open mind to recruiting over Kouma depending on what sort of growth Kouma demonstrates in the next 2 years and who else might be interested in coming to Illinois.
Targets: Aside from Bernard Kouma, if Kofi really is a 1-2 year player for us and makes it to the NBA then I could see us using that to try and land someone like Charles Bediako (#40 / #6 C) or even possibly Chet Holmgren (#4 / #1 C). Someone like Deiman Reyes (#197 / #23 C) is maybe a more realistic target to keep an eye on and see if we like him more than Kouma.

You're probably pretty spot on for what our 2021 lineup looks like. Assuming Miller either didn't sign or already left and that Kofi's in the NBA as well, I would expect to see something like:
1. Curbelo (So)
2. Alan Griffin (Sr) / Top 2021 Recruit (Jaden Hardy, Max Christie, Malaki Branham, or Manny Obaseki)
3. Austin (Sr) & Jacob (Sr)
4. Tevian (Sr) / BBV (Jr) / Coleman (So)
5. Giorgi (Sr) / Hamlin (Jr) / Kouma (Jr) (or a Freshman Big in place of Kouma)

That leaves 2 more spots on the roster (plus the Top 2021 CG/SG which we can't take for granted). Looking at the gaps where we have lots of Seniors or a potential NBA early exit those 2 spots would need to go to another Shooting Guard and a Wing. Ideally Top 100 type players but after Giorgi and now maybe BBV I'm willing to Trust Underwood to get whoever he wants (not that I could do anything to change it anyway!)

In terms of bigs, if you're going to list Chet Holmgren, you should also list Michael Foster who played for the Mac Irvin Fire this last summer and I think visited campus? At least there was chatter that he did. Otherwise pretty solid breakdown. I think for prospects like Hardy, Christie, Holmgren and Foster to take us seriously, we would have to:
Make at least a Sweet Sixteen run this year
Miller would have to commit
Both Ayo and Kofi would have to be top 20 picks in this upcoming draft.

EDIT: Also man, I really hope we have a legit chance at Hopkins. He looks like a Liddell type and you can see just by his offer list, he is legit. And it is surely waaaaay to soon to talk about this but maybe AJ Casey will be a reclassify by the time the 2021 class is in full swing? Probably not but one can dream
