Obviously we can’t answer that right now but anyone definitively planning on Josh next year will need to rethink that. He’s ready for the next level.

If bhebhe goes pro in one year, we have a bright future on the transfer market. Every high end transfer will see that we have the capacity to send a bench player from usc to the league. In one year. And this is not even the receiver they tried to convince to stay!

My feelings for that market aside, you are 100% correct. This is something we can sell.

As much as the transfer market has helped us out this yr, we need solid high school commits to keep the roots growing Illini strong. We’ve been a team of potential for too long... Sleeping Dragon has Awoken

Do any of our knowledgable insider types know anything about who the coaching staff is visiting/bringing on campus during the bye week? This seems like a great opportunity to work on closing 2020 and making more significant inroads into 2021. Momentum is in place and tangible success looks like a legit sales pitch.

Derek Bermudez comes in this week apparently. I’m not aware of much else visit wise.

We are gonna flip a kid, I’m told. Pretty good kid too. He’s got some nice tape. And no, it’s not Mookie.

Chad Morris fired as Coach at Arkansas, he has verbals from good players. Time to flip some.

Unfortunately, not really. They have a lot of kids I’ve seen quite a bit. Turner is a gem but we’re not in the mix. The kid Dixon from Carthage is really, really good but if UT has a spot he’s going to sign there, he almost committed there this summer. Other than that, they have a few kids from Houston and DFW that are intriguing but not the big names one would typically chase in this type of situation.

The big time commits Morris had on his roll early have already de-committed and moved on, like French.

Also saw a video of 2 young dudes on the field at the game this weekend going nuts about getting on the train or something along those lines. 2021 kid with an IL offer. I'll look to insert video later unless someone does it for me

We kept saying/hearing/believing just make a bowl game and recruiting should/would take off. No better time then this bye week to sell recruits. I hope to see some good news in a few days

The Chief committed to Florida. Would have been great to have him by name alone
Damn with a name like that he belongs here. Thought we had a great chance to land him, but I suppose the 2021 recruiting class still has time

Attitude / academics or recent play on the field?

Warren missed some games early because of off the field issues & he hasn't put it together on the field this year. But Brother Rice is still playing, so he has time to put more film out there

Savion Williams is a kid from TX that AHS was in on before. Not sure if we'd still pursue him.

Shoot, I forgot about him. Good call. He’s a talent. They’ve got him playing a couple different spots over there now. They have a big game down there this week, that one will be fun to watch.

I know Houston liked the kid early on, as did Tech. He’ll have options. He’d be a nice get though. As stated, he’s a talent.
