I really liked the second half rotations and the heart and fire that we showed...we cleaned up the TO's in the second half and got the halfcourt offense humming with Kofi and alot better ball movement

Strong second half. Much better balance inside and outside game. Much better passing, particularly GB. Cockburn looks to have the potential to be best center in Illinois basketball history.

Overall a win, that is most important....2nd half much more cohesive than the 1st half, Griffin and Nichols very active, good to see from Kipper especially. Trio of guards took longer to get going than it should...won't be able to win in B1G with starting games like this one. Giorgi played much better at the 4 overall in 2nd half. Kofi will have a very good career here when all is over with. On to the next.

Defense was really good the whole game. Offense still generated some good looks in the first half but just looked uncoordinated. Second half really looked good on both ends. Execution was sooo much better on offense.

I understand wanting to push the ball to try and get an easy bucket, but this team continues to turn the ball over when they try to play fast. When they slow things down this half court offense is tough to stop.

I like the short rotation tonight. The hockey lineup rotation is growing a bit weary on me. 8 day layoff is a bit much at this point of the season and it showed. Only thing I would like to see is once a team tries to dictate the pace of play, we should press some. We have enough guards. JMO... Win and move on! GO ILLINI

Bench was just really short in general which was kind of strange.
Many dont like KN....but he played well in his few minutes. I think we saw a decent and versatile 7 man rotation in 2d half...KN and AG off the bench...although I prefer giorgi off bench and probably feliz.

How did we shoot 10 fewer shots?

10 fewer fouls
+18 possessions from rebounds
-7 possessions from turnovers
... we should have shot +11 and with the free throws been up by 30+.

I’m thinking there are a few things that could be happening. 1) we are getting multiple rebounds in a single trip down the court on poor put back attempts. 2) were committing offensive fouls, effectively a worse form of turnover.

18 turnovers is a disgusting stat to read...

21 minutes seems like a lot for Nichols to me,
