Well for what its worth I hope we questioned it and at least the conference can admit publicly that the officials blew it. Lovie was pretty blunt about it in his presser.
This seems like a situation where the AD or somebody should be trying to meet with the league. Probably warrants more than one complaint from the coach in the post game presser

The last spread I saw was Illini by 10 pts. Current forecast is 90% chance of rain with a high of 53 degrees. Do the Illini cover the spread?

Back to the NU game now, I am concerned about the students. Given the uncomfortable situation the University puts them in with closings over the holidays and add to that the threat of inclement weather, I put forth that the students will not show up for this game. That leaves the season ticket holders who are older, plus the single game ticket buyers. How many will stay home out of the rain? We get just over 30,000 a game and this could be far less.

I’m going with a buddy, and I personally would rather have some rain than it be 25 or 30. It’s supposed to be 53, which is amazing for end of November. Not sure on the crowd. Hoping people will come out to support this senior class that kept the faith.

My parents and I will be there, ponchos and all!

After Fitzy "closed the playbook" versus us last time and put in his backup to not give anything away to tOSU, I REALLY want to crush them on Saturday.

Following a tough game at Iowa, in which we showed we are a real team, it would be great to follow up with a convincing win over NW. Do that, and win a bowl game, and there is no question we are back.

At least 3 of us (4 if I can convince the wife to attend) will be there from Chatham. Seen so many years of bad football, gonna take a lot to keep me away from what appears to be at least mediocre football that is trending upward.

I will settle for winning the game

I will take any win. My first post Thanksgiving game. Usually out of town on Thursday and not worth the effort to get back early.

Sell em or give em away! :thumb:

On that note, is there some sort of e-ticket repository where you could basically go online, indicate you won’t be using that ticket, and then the school can redistribute it/resell it?

I’m not even sure if that’s a thing...but thought I remember hearing something about it awhile back.

Shogbonyo's being honored on Senior Day. Not coming back for his 5th year, apparently? (which would suck, BTW). Can anyone confirm?

I can't confirm or deny but he wasn't on the list as of Monday:

Saturday will mark the final game at Memorial Stadium for 17 Fighting Illini. Seniors Nolan Bernat, Dre Brown, Reggie Corbin, Trenard Davis, Stanley Green, Dele Harding, Kenyon Jackson, Jamal Milan, Tymir Oliver, Richie Petitbon, Caleb Reams, Bobby Walker and Justice Williams, plus RS juniors Kurt Gavin, Brandon Jones, Cam Miller and Griffin Palmer, will be recognized prior to the game.

Interesting that they are honoring Griffin Palmer and Kurt Gavin who are RS JRs who could come back next year. I guess they aren't coming back? If that's the case then we will have at least two more scholarships available for the Class of 2020.

Also, Cam Miller has another year of eligibility but I guess he isn't coming back either. Brandon Jones has already been moved to a medical scholarship.

Does honoring them on senior day mean they aren't coming back? Or does it just mean they're seniors?

Pretty sure it means they don't plan on coming back. That doesn't mean they can't come back but it means that they are participating in case they decide to move on.

Jake Hansen, Jake Cerny, Doug Kramer and James McCourt are also "Seniors" but they are RS Juniors who plan on coming back so they aren't participating.

If Shogbonyo is also leaving then there will just be four guys from the Class of 2016 left on the team next year:

Dorms are opening early (Saturday morning I believe) to encourage students to go to the game.

Dre Brown could likely get a 6th year since he lost 2 years to knee injuries, but I believe he is participating because he's not sure whether he'll be back or not.
