Bowl games can be hard to call. This one certainly is. I can see the full range of outcomes here but hopefully it ends up with a big win for us. It would be great to cap the season on a high note heading into 2020.

100% agree. With two very average hot/cold teams like ILL/CAL I wouldn’t be shocked if you told me now that either one of these 2 teams won the game by 20+ points.

In my opinion this one will come down to who actually cares. Both teams have reasons to come motivated, but both teams have plenty of reasons they may have already shut it down. I just hope Illinois hasn’t already mailed in and shows up - I’ll be very disappointed with another Northwestern

Based on BheBhe’s Instagram story’s over the past couple of days, it doesn’t look like he’ll be playing. Take this with a grain of salt though, really hoping he’ll suit up

fyi for those wondering how the receivers who spurned us did this year, Adam Miller who stayed at Oklahoma had about 118 yds receiving, ranking 8th on receptions for the Sooners. Dejon Brissett, who reneged on us for Virginia, only had two catches for 25 yds. Neither had a touchdown.

Had we used schollies on either of them, perhaps we couldn't have taken BheBhe, and IMHO that would have cost us at least 2-3 wins. No bowl. No incredible upsets. No improvement. Recruiting tanking instead of at least being respectable. Lovie 50-50 for being fired instead of getting job security for a couple $5 million years.

Funny how things work out sometimes, isn't it?

You forgot the ultimate spurn from Jeff Thomas. 31 catches for 379 yards and 3 TD.

Miami is playing La Tech today. Geaux Tech!

Him and his 31 receptions and 3 touchdowns are sitting out Miami’s bowl game to prepare for the draft LOL

Plainfield
So I assume we try hard to establish the run. I think it can be done and we can be successful this way, BUT the offensive line has to dominate. Cal isn’t used to Big Ten smash mouth. It’s probably our best recipe and if we can do it with success early should open up the passing game. Yes?

BheBhe wont be playing on Monday. Don’t know the injury, just know he’s not playing. Big loss not to have him, but we’ll still win!

That hurts big time

Agreed. Not having a legit downfield threat that can go up and get the jump ball limits what Cal will have to worry about. Let’s hope the run game can be established quickly.

We still win I think, but the staff should use this opportunity to use Delevon Campbell in BheBhe's position and also use IW to start if Peters doesn't play or to play in substirutions to keep Cal on their toes. Cumby can also be used to catch out of the back field, his speed and Delevon's speed and size along with Illini run game should frustrate, confuse and defeat Cal. Coaches need to use every means necessary to win. This is the time to unload all offensive weapons. With that said, just don't do what they did in the Northwestern game and don't start Robinson, thats a recipe for defeat.

None of these things happened all season. Why would we all of the sudden be able to execute this?

More concerning is the idea that this person doesn’t seem to understand what California’s staff does defensively. This isn’t Erik Chinander you’re facing here. If you think an incredibly raw, true freshman RPO kid in a one-read offense is going to “frustrate” or “confuse” Justin Wilcox, you will be very disappointed.
