Red light has to be on for Giorgi from 15+.
I think BU has and is getting better players and we will get better. That being said I'm having flashbacks of Myrrs out top and not down low as it pertains to GB. It is ridiculous to say that just because Kofi or any 5 is in a game that a power forward type cant get the ball in the post. GB is a match up issue down low for most teams 4s and BU seems to totally disregard that. Other 5s match up better with GB. I just dont get it. To say they cant go to GB in the post is stupid. You can go to anyone down low even a guard if they have an advantage. GB shoots at a very high percentage in the post with both hands especailly vs guys his size or smaller. I'm shocked and ccx annoyed we dont do this more. I hope we use him d ou wn low and Kofi can draw Harms to the opposite side. If he helps pass it for a dunk
The 3 pt line has been moved back and its impacting our team and we need to choose our shots more effectively.

I agree on Giorgi. Maybe Kofi can’t pass the ball, but I envisioned Kofi coming up and letting Giorgi post his guy on the block from time to time.

With the post moves GB was displaying as last season progressed, I am suprised that I haven't seen more touches for him there when Kofi is in the game. I do vaguely remember one game early on this season when GB got it on the block and it led to an assist and a Kofi dunk. I'm ignorant about GB's potential match-ups from game to game, but when kofi and GB are both in the game, touches for GB on the block seem to be deficient.

Underwood on Alan starting/off the bench: I like him off the bench. He's dapping guys up. I like what's he's bringing. High-motor guy off the bench. I like him with Dre.

Update on #Illini freshman Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk.

Underwood: "Still out with a foot. A little soreness in it & they've put it in a boot to help that healing process.. Not practicing & will not play tomorrow."

Not the same injury from the summer. Other leg, different part.

Underwood: Next. Purdue. It's what the Big Ten's all about. We got a first-hand example of why MSU was picked as first in the conference & why Cassius Winston was picked as the national POY.

When the ball doesn't go in, you're not going to win games.

Underwood: We lost a heartbreaker at Maryland & we turned around three days later & beat Michigan. That's what this league affords you.

Underwood: Purdue is a little bit more inside-oriented team. Has been interesting to watch Matt Haarms. Watched him a lot in HS. Had 26 the other night... Guard play has been. If you want to teach a young kid how to shoot, might want to pull (Stefanovic) up.

Underwood: The one thing we've talked to Kofi about is using his frame, using his body. You've got to hit people.

Since he is being guarded by smaller players this year since Kofi draws the other teams 5 I just get annoyed GB should ne getting the ball in the post as much as he ever has. He could certainly demand a double and help get better shots inside more often than from the arc where he is not closely guarded.

Not sure the rationale of “liking” AG off the bench ... he’s one of the few pieces working (i.e., should start on merit), and the sum of our pieces ISN’T working (i.e., lets shake something up!).
Totally agree. Two of our biggest issues are slow starts and there point shooting. If DW was a much better rebounder or as good a shooter It would be different. What's the definition of insanity? Lets make a simple change! We could try something different imo by starting AG and getting GB looks inside with Kofi on the floor. GB is a good player but he is no more a stretch 4 that Tate was a outside threat at PG. Defenses sagging off hurts our offense. I think GB would draw the double and get open looks for AG and others. Why not try something else and play to strengths inside not the other way around and just keep chucking contested threes like woodchucks chucking wood!

I can never understand why people care about the starting lineup. Rotations are what is important. AG coming in with Feliz makes sense because 1 is a driver and the other is a shooter. Damonte and Feliz can't work.

Need at least 2 of Ayo, Trent, and AG on the court at all times.

I agree with AG starting. I like his hustle on both sides of the court. He said he was going to drive more to the basket this year, and he’s been living up to it.
1. Trent
2. Ayo
3. AG
4. GB
5. Kofi

Monte, Dre, Kip, and Tev peppered in.

So starting flat repeatedly we should just go with what we have been? Also do you only want onexshooter on the floor at a time? I think there is more to it. I like AG and Trent on the floor as shooters when we started slow so often

Seems reasonable. The hole gets really deep if we lose this one.

You mean hole...hole....hole....the echo is deafening...Purdue with its 3 pt defense and our lack of 3 pt offense....don't see this going well unless Haarms is out really early with fouls.

Purdue hasn’t played very well on the road so far, but they’ve had our number recently. Hoping we are catching them at a good time.

The score after 5 mins of our last 4 P5 games

UI 9-5 Maryland
UI 10-11 Michigan
UI 11-5 Mizzou
UI 6 - 11 MSU

Slow starts haven't really been an issue.

Your best players and your best line up should start the game. Especailly when we lack shooting and AG brings that more than anyone. We disagree. Your best players should start and play the most minutes. It motivates players and AG needs to start fir those and other reasons.

People are gonna call me crazy on here but Zach Griffith should get some actual minutes. Dude shoots actually much better than most of our rotation players and he’s 6’6 and tries to defend.

He can’t play the 4 in this offense and not shoot. Either he has to find his stroke or Kipper needs more of those minutes. Wouldn’t Aaron Jordan look good at the 4 this year with Kofi?
Kipper is shooting .08 from the three point line this season vs. .32 for Georgi. Giorgi is also much better from two.

AG played 25 min last game to Damonte's 16. You don't have to start to play the most minutes. And lack of shooting is exactly why he fits well on the bench. If he starts then Feliz and Damonte are coming in at the same time. Those 2 are our worst shooters. That would kill our offense.

After posting this I read Pipers article. Vs high major competition Giorgi is 2-10 and Kipper is 0-6. So they both are bad, but without the facts to back it up, it seems to me kipper has the better mid range game and handles. Giorgi is obviously far superior on the block, but he’s not playing there unless Kofi is out.
