Illinois 79, Purdue 62 POSTGAME

Was so frustrated in the first half with this game because of Griffin. So glad he got ejected. Pathetic decision on his part, just admit you intentionally stepped on him and apologize. He has been involved in multiple bad actions like this.

So pumped about the second half of this game! What a dominant performance by the Illini! We are really stepping up and it is fun to watch!

I was wondering if we were ever going to get Trent of yesteryear with defensive pest Trent in the same game. Not to take away from the rest of the team, but it feels like Ayo, Trent, and Kofi could have beaten last year's Illini 3v5

Ayo had more assists

Building that resume now, cut down on the loose handles, with the assists, ice vein shots, and timely plays...1st round. Kofi (Dakich) needs 1 more year of seasoning, so shut up already and stay away from his family and friends also...lol

Giorgi hitting 3’s and Kofi’s mid range jumper are going to give opposing coaches some headaches. We good.

And again I know I will draw aspersions but... the frustration of not starting might have a itty itty litty itty bit to do with this.. Has he not earned a starting position? Prior to this...AND REMEMBER YOU BROUGHT IT UP

That's a lot of speculation. It can easily be said the Underwood see that in him and that is why he is not starting. Either way it does not matter. You cannot act like that. Watch Felix and TF play. They are competitive and get into guys without being dirty. I am a huge AG fan but that stuff is just unacceptable.

Very impressive 2nd half! If we keep playing with this intensity we're in every game. If we have Trent, Kofi & Ayo all scoring like tonight, good luck to the opposing team!

Trank's stats say Purdue is a top 10 team at home. We didn't have Giorgi the first half and Griffin got kicked out...and we still whooped em. This is the most impressive win since?????

First game that comes to mind is the Tyler Griffey Indiana game.

I haven’t felt this way about IL basketball since 2004. Dee Brown and friends went to Indiana, and I thought they might get throttled, but they ended up winning. That was the moment I realized they were a special team. I felt that way tonight. Glorious feeling it is.

Check my post history. I've been calling this team a Final Four potential team for close to two months since the Maryland/Michigan games and have been laughed at. Do I have anyone jumping on the bandwagon with me yet? Remember, you just have to win four games and not necessarily against 1 seeds depending on how the bracket falls.

In March you only need guards that can get hot and good D. Check and Check. Add in Kofi and Giorgi for out rebounding teams by a wide margin and we have a winning recipe.

THAT was impressive. I don’t think we can play much better than tonight. Amazing where this team was and where it is tonight. They beat the hell out of us and we didn’t get rattled, didn’t get frustrated, just crammed it right down their throat.

Illini basketball is fun again!!!!

Trent...my favorite current player hands down...welcome, welcome, welcome
Ayo...Do you Ice Ice Baby!
Feliz...Keep on rolling and being that 3rd guard for us
Griffin...love the aggresiveness in game, don't love the aggresiveness that gets you out of the game.
Williams...Keep hustling, keep rebounding and keep guarding guys a foot taller than you to help us out.
Kofi...Get mad big fella...thought he might rip the rim down tonight.
Giorgi...Started talking and getting fired up about his own game...loved it more than a cheerleader tonight when in.
Kipper...valuable minutes.
Jones...Lost, simply not worth giving minutes to right now?

Coaching staff-A+ tonight all round
Players (playing) A+

Good to follow the game start to finish and love doing it once again, thank you ILLINI.
