Wow....just wow. Been waiting for an Illini team to play like that for 15 years....since the Illini-Wake Forest game of '05. Other than 14 turnovers, they pretty much played as well as they are capable. Like everyone said going in, beating Purdue in Lafayette is very, very difficult...and winning by 17 is unimaginable. Props to this team for setting a new standard...one they must strive toward every night. 18-2 is not going to happen but trying to win the B1G with that in the forefront every night is possible. We will wait and expect a cold night in Piscataway or Evanston, but they can overcome...maybe... with defense and tenacious rebounding. All cylinders were firing away tonight. The efficiency curve was moved way to the right and the left end is hopefully in the rear-view mirror so far it can't be seen or remembered (Miami/Mizzou). The only blunder was the momentum killing dunce play by Griffin...but he will learn from that and hopefully not let it affect him for too long. Finally, Illini fans get rewarded for years of frustration and poor play on the hardwood. The future is bright and maybe attractive enough to attract the state's best players to join the fun that the international kids are building.
