Georgi has gone from making all of his dinky shots last year to not coming close. He needs to shoot it instead of throwing it too quickly.

Yeah, Dee was "faster", but Ayo's speed is effortless and his length and control makes it hard to compare. Game speed.

Like comparing Eric Dickerson's effortless gliding speed to Barry Sanders lightning quickness. Both fast but different types of speed.

I know this horse is dead, but i still can't believe the staff couldn't find a way to get Tevian engaged enough to earn a role in this rotation. His skillset would help tremendously.
Especially in a game like today. However, the 3-ball threat from the Huskers needs to be respected so he probably won't see minutes unless we get up big.

Yea...but he has caught Damonte's disease and can't seem to hit a shot right now. But he has been hustling, just needs to have the game slow down for him and it eventually will...but not at this time.

I'm with you. He has a nice athletic skill set. He should be playing in this game. (As a coach, however, I know there are always things happening in practice and off the court to which fans are not privy.)

Except DMFW has been hitting shots, so....not really a "disease".

I feel like when Giorgi came in the game we focused on trying to get him a bucket. We lost the fire.

I thought this would be the game to get Giorgi back on track. But now we can't even afford to have him out there...

Wow...are we looking forward to the BIG tournament? Lackadaisical is an understatement.

Right now I just want to get the Illini back on track in this game. Feels like we came in thinking we were playing one of the last place teams in the conference tonight. Hmmmmm...

as a team I would have to imagine that our FG% inside of five feet is well below the national average. it’s really a notable deficiency

yeah...Dee might win a 100 yd dash against Ayo...but from the top of the key to releasing the ball for a layup I think Ayo is quicker because his stride seems about 3 ft. longer. Likely, no measurable difference or Ayo a bit quicker there.

Not one of Damonte s better efforts..on offense he is playing like the ball is a grenade

I've never seen a team like this year's Illinois team play so much better on the road than at home. It's almost like it's a mental thing. We just don't play with enough urgency and toughness on our own floor. It's baffling. Don't get me wrong... love it when we travel and play as underdogs, but geez it's gut-wrenching watching this team play anyone on its own court.
