Illinois 71, Nebraska 59 POSTGAME

Ugly win... positives: ayo, feliz, and griffin. Negatives: GB still struggling big time. Kofi needs to work on hands. Trents turnovers were bad.. our offense sucks.

First time that Illinois has had 10 conference wins since the 09-10 season and first time they clinched at least a .500 conference record since the ''10-11 season.

EDIT: Illinois finished .500 in B1G play in '14-15, but the point still stands. It's been too long since Illinois has been this relevant in the conference.

I’m being lazy and not doing the research myself...so why Are we a #6 seed in the B10 right now? We only played PSU and Wisky once and beat them both, so...

Not a good tie-breaking result against those teams who are 10-6. Worst case scenario in that regard.

We need to tie with Michigan, PSU and Wisconsin. Things then turn in our favor. Long way yet to go!

Right now we'd be the 4 seed due to losing the tiebreakers to MSU and Iowa (who have their only matchup tomorrow night in East Lansing).

By what metric does Nebraska have one of the best offenses in the B10? Both KenPom and Torvik have their offense as worst in the conference.

Yeah I typed that too quick, "one of the best" was not the way to describe it. One of the most aggressive. Very offensive minded, cutting, shooting, etc.

I predicted a close first half and then pull away to win by 14. I was close. I love it the Illini win and Louisville loses. Why do we shoot so bad at home. You could see in the first half the ball wasn’t going in from three.

Nebraska pretty bad, they spread us on defense. Use cutters and drives to set up 1 v 1 but they often couldn't finish. We should've of won by 20 pts.

We need to be more disciplined with our shooting. Strong defense can really help set things up, example would be Griffen. You have to let the game come to you. Tonight, we missed sooo many bunnies.

So it's an "ugly" win, our offense "sucks", yet we score 71 and hold one of the best offenses in the B1G to 59.

This is saying something.
That's what extra possessions will do when you hit the offensive glass and force TOs. Two keys to us winning games when we struggle to shoot as often as we do.
