Trust me when i say that we didn't lose much here.
Why the hell did they hire him in the first place. And can they make a commitment to not add any more dead weight to the staff?

Sorry I'm grumpy right now

Just another "bust" hire by Lovie. E Pluribus Unum..

I understand that outstanding Illini and Bears OL coach Harry Hiestand is still available. He'd be a real difference maker on this staff, making a tremendous leap in recruiting and pass blocking player development.

I suspect that Lovie hasn't even called him. He's rarely concerned with upgrading staff, and just about every change he's made has been a downgrade...except for Rod Smith who took us from horrid OC to mediocre. He still hasn't shown us he can recruit top QB talent that he needs for depth and to make his offense go, or brought in a "feature back" to build the offense around.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with transfers, but so far he hasn't shown us much there. I understand that Clark and Hudson were the main recruiters for BheBhe and Sidney.

MJ Rivers looked like he was more than capable at commanding a Big offense. Brandon Peters exceeded my expectations and negativity last yr. We’ve got Coran Taylor and IW sitting in the wings. QB room should be one of the last worrries on your mind.

Coran Taylor seems like a prime transfer candidate

I think I've read on this board that he has the athletecism to play other positions. If he could crack the depth chart at another position I'd rather he stayed and played. But yeah, if his goal is to climb QB mountain, it probably isn't happening here unless he has a massive breakthrough.

I’ve read that he loves Illinois and doesn’t want to transfer. That being said, if he had an opportunity to start somewhere else I would think he’d want to consider that. Immediate eligibility will make that decision easier for quite a few if it passes.

Hope he does whatever is best for him. I was kind of disappointed he only got like 2 reps last year. Looked good from the extremely small sample size

Another stellar take from you.
If you really think a QB room of IW, Coran Taylor, Brandon Peters, Deuce Spann and Matt Robinson isn't a huge upgrade from AJ Bush, Fr Coran Taylor, Fr Robinson and Fr Mj Rivers then i got a bag of magic beans to sell to you. And a "feature" back doesn't even work in rod's offense. Plus i would say chase brown and reggie love are a upgrade from the talent in here before. In fact if you wanna be critical say that he hasn't been able to recruit the right slot or big play receivers. And its funny how your critical of lovie's hiring are bust while giving credit on the transfers to the very people he hired. So wouldn't that mean he did a good job of hiring people to land these type of players??

Grad transfer OLB/DE from Bama eh? Thoughts from those in the know?

Edit: Looks like he was at Wisky these past few years.

One year left to play.

I'm guessing he plays DE and takes over Shogbonyo's role.

I would be shocked if he isn't starting on day one. Don't think he transferred to sit.
