So grateful Ayo chose Illinois. I'd bet we'll look back several years from now and see him as the guy who finally turned this supertanker around and pointed it in the right direction. Thrilled he (likely) went out in the SFC a winner.

Please no one ever publish that 13-season string of turds ever again ;). I have faith that our long Illini nightmare is over.

I dont think that put us in a hole. Iowa played well. I think Kip starting may have had a part in him playing so well. I kinda wish he would slart again after tonight!
I was speaking of coaches son, didn't wanna do that. I do feel Kipper is good for 10-15 minutes per game!!!!!! 2 reasons
1. He can guard bigger guards and some 4's.
2. He is the only damn Illini player that stands on the free throw line when our opponents in a Zone!!!!!! Can hit that little jumper and passes well.

Didn’t get to watch. How much zone did they throw at us and how effective was it? Did they stay in zone for any long stretches?

Great win. Nail biting game at the end. I thought it would send it out hit a3 and win. But we won and a great job by Kofi.

No Illini i remember talked more to player that Derek Harper did. I sat close and i loved it. There was a lot of that going on tonight. It was intense and Ayo reminds me a little of him. Ayo is so quick end to end like Harp was. I hope Ayo can get to be the player he was. Ayo is starting to remind me of him more and more.

An unusually bad decision by Trent on the early three. Really have to understand the game situation there.

From what I have seen, I am definitely in the minority, but I did not mind the shot. I think too many fans are still carrying the losing mindset. Yeah it looks bad now that it didn't go in but Trent took that shot KNOWING it was going in and knowing that that was the dagger that sealed the game.

I will take that mindset a thousand times before the mindset of just trying to hang on and not lose.

Not related to this game, but if that shot had gone in my prospects for the rest of the season would have been through the roof because Trent swagger would have no doubt been back

This is still a bit rough, but here's a visual breakdown of the game. We were a lot more like ourselves tonight — load up on ORs, limit TOs, and make our 11 extra scoring opportunities pay off.

Sorry for no legend yet. Left to right:
  • 3 pointers made (green) and missed (blank)
  • 2 pointers made (forest) and missed (blank)
  • FTs made (blue) and missed (blank)
    • Note: the scaling used is 0.475 FTs per "possession" to account for and-1s, 1-and-1s, etc.
  • Turnovers (red boxes)
  • Center line: regular possessions (gray), and Offensive Rebounds (purple boxes)

determining whether a shot was good or bad TO TAKE has nothing to do with the shot going in

We lose this game without Dre Feliz' play.

I am wondering who on next year's team can fill his role, the hard nosed glue guy.

I've been thinking that replacing Feliz with a good 3 point shooter would simply make this a different team. On this team, with not enough good shooters...he's very needed.

Just a theory.

This season has been so refreshing! Any good things that happen from here on out is icing on the cake.
Great season from the whole team , from the top down, we have a future and it's looking good

The better play would be to eat clock first, then score.

Its not so much about "not losing" as it is really getting the clock on your side.

I agree — that said, Trent's shot came in a stretch where we were running out the clock and not getting very good looks at the end of possessions. So, while I don't think it's the best play, I can live with a guy taking a shot like that with confidence.

Not sure how you created the illusion that I meant that.. I just said that no one would be complaining had it went in (obviously)

We are up 6, with a minute 30 to go, and we get a wide open 3 for a chance to end the game from a guy that although he has struggled I think we all consider still to be a good 3-point shooter.

He took the shot with 22 on the shot clock, so we could have pulled it out and wasted 15 seconds and got who knows what quality of look.

I'll take the shot, but even more importantly the mentality
