Random, someone posted in here they got a customized Griffin jersey. Where from? I want to get an Illini jersey ASAP.

Thanks

Indy, wasn't it Hutch that hit the 16 three's in a row at practice to break Alex Legion's record of 15???
Guess the law of averages caught up with Alex during game action. Couldn't seem to throw it in the ocean when it mattered, if I remember right.

You are talking about a player that isn’t even in the top 100-150 rated 2020 draftable players being in the NBA. I doubt he will be in the top 100 next year.

Yup, and the same guy wasn't in the top 150 in his HS class, and clearly that is not where his value is now within that class. Improvement doesn't follow the same linear trend for everybody and some bloom late.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see how things play out. I'm not exactly rooting for the guy anymore, but I do think he has the type of skillset that is in high demand these days. Whether he realizes that or is derailed by off the court stuff (seems more probable after the last few days), we'll see.

Agree & have to think that what he is doing against his dad's advice has to send up a red flag in the basketball community especially since his father is so highly regarded in that world.

AG is catch and shoot. Has a difficult time creating his own shot. With a pass first point guard coming in, you would think it would be reason to stay. Someone who can set you up for open looks is what he needs. Doesn't seem like logic was a factor in his decision.

I would root for Alan Griffin, hope he doesn't stay in the BIG. Thought he was a high potential guy who was the most improved. I can see his frustration if not given a clear signal he would start, BU would not give those guarantees IMHO. Was going to be a difficult conversation with someone to not start Damonte, Frazier, Griffin, AMiller, or one of the transfers. He will likely have to sit a year and I'm not sure he would want to stick around for another two. Still think staying one more year vice sitting and than grad transfer route probably better. But we don't have the behind scene intel.

Illinois sophomore transfer Alan Griffin (8.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg) told me that he is considering the following right now:

Miami, Arizona, Marquette, Dayton, Iowa State, Texas, Syracuse, Duke

Per Jeff Goodman on Twitter

Any chance staff is still recruiting him to stay?
I am sure someone knows of a player who has entered the portal, and then not transferred, but when a kid publicly says "I don't want to be here anymore, I will be leaving", its best if everyone moves on.

Players get it, and understand it, but privately I bet most or some on the returning roster are pissed at AG about this. It doesn't mean it will be nasty like the Mark Smith stuff, but the "family" stuff isn't all cliche. It hurts when a teammate and friend don't want to be a part of what you are trying to build.

Duke or Dayton is what I am hearing.

Yes, I am sure he will go and start at PG immediately at Duke. Sure, his kid brother is there, but how can anyone claim he is leaving because his mom thinks he should play PG if he ends up at Duke. Some of this tomfoolery doesn't add up, I tells ya!

Definitely gonna get more playing time at Duke.
Good Luck! Dayton looks good.

Javon Freeman-Liberty, Marcus' nephew entered the portal and then returned to Valpo.

Dukes point guard did enter the draft.

You should have seen the list of AG transfer reasons off of a premium site that got posted on a another free site. It was very creative. :) The sad part is people believe that cr*p.

Transfer portal is up to 460 players with more to come. It doesn't include the grad transfers.
