Can he recruit without the $$$ influence? I can't imagine he'd be willing to continue being dirty while he has to assume he's being watched by the feds. I could see this being a homerun for Iona, and I can also see it being a disaster.
I think he'll bring back Iona to the success they had in the Jeff Ruland days (his playing days not coaching days). Interesting fact, when Ruland was player they beat eventual national champions Louisville in the regular season.

Gee, I'm pretty happy with Coach Brad, a guy who has said he wanted to be at Illinois. Illinois Loyalty, baby!

Is anyone else surprised that coach Beilein has not found a job yet after both BC and Texas stood pat

Not sure what he'll do. Seeing him on the BTN, it looked like that Cleveland job took about 15 years off him. If he wants to come back, I hope he gets a good gig. I've always admired him as a coach.

I think he may want to rest up as the NBA gig did not do any favors for him. Analyst next season, something like Wake Forest/Georgia Tech type of gig will open after that I believe. I could see him taking one of them or similiar type of school.

Oy. Where's the face palm emoji? Beilein is being very selective. Smart move, IMO. Yes, he failed in the NBA, but I think that's done minor damage WRT getting a good college gig.

Yep, he is an elite college coach. He's proven that and he turned down many people already. He wants the right fit.

Beilein is 67 years old and has 4 kids and like a half dozen grandkids. He's done coaching.
