So do the coaches just huddle up with smart phones all day and go overboard with social media, text and what not for recruitment?

Also do you think injuries next year will go through the roof because kids aren't keeping work outs going?

A couple tidbits for y'all
1. We are going to have a few more kids hit the portal. Upperclassmen back-ups, nothing that is going to hurt too much.
2. Staff really likes where they are with a couple prospects, especially some kids out of FL and Texas.
3. Barlev and Kreutz will probably be the first kids to commit when this corona stuff is all over.
4. Keith cooper has blown up recently so this isn't the for sure thing, but i think we have as good of a shot as anyone else.
5. After these kids transfer there is going to be 7-8 open spots for next year so expect the staff to look more to multi year guys. Playing time isn't as easy of a sell this season for grad transfers. So we are going to have to sell future playing time.

That makes a lot of sense.

I recall there was a lot of buzz for 2021 kids from our last big recruiting push. Has that fizzled out or do I just need to be patient?

Is the recruiting situation really as bad as it seems? You’d think coming off last season with our new facility we’d be doing really well on the recruiting trail. If it is as bad as it looks, we are going to fall off a major cliff after next season. Back to square one.

Optics are tough to judge at this time because of social distancing. The coaching staff is pretty hush on recruiting anyway, add to it that
no one can be inside the program right now, it is hard to know what is happening.

The only recruits that we know about come from someone that is recruited by other schools where word gets out through other programs or social media or when someone on this board has a personal relationship with a person in the program (close enough where they talk on the phone). Or from paysite reporters that track down leads (which shouldn't be shared on this board).

Ultimately, a small percentage of people know what is happening and almost none of them are talking. At this point we just wait.

Ultimately, a time like this has me too busy with work to follow up on any recruiting information or even pay attention to what is happening. But know that every program is in the same boat right now. And we are just as well equipped as anyone.

We do have 1 commit at this time when we usually have zero, but we are still at the familiar position near the bottom of the conference.

It was overblown by a particular poster. We're in a really good spot with about 10 players. I think we'll see half of them commit before the BBQ if we push hard for their commits. We should because it's going to be a big class :illinois:

That's good news. When is the bbq scheduled again?
