Honestly, I can see Frazier coming off the bench some this season, especially if the frosh can hold their own on the defensive end. Feel free to tell me if I’m wrong, but it seems like his shooting was much better at the beginning of the game and bottomed as the game wore on. This isn’t a knock on Trent - I just think he can be better utilized. He can provide that much needed spark of energy off the bench, much like Feliz did last year, and can come in as a defensive stopper as well. He’ll still get a lot of minutes, just as Giorgi will. It takes a leader to assume what some might see as a lesser role, but one that is actually needed by the team.

I believe Curbelo will be starting by mid season. I think both Grandison and Hutch will be too good to not get significant playing time, and Hawkins’ shooting and passing ability will earn him time as well. As much as I wanted Tchikou to come in and be the 4 we desperately need, I still think, if everything is ticking, we could still have an embarrassment of riches.

I see Hutch as the guy off the bench that takes Griffins spot. With the depth of Trent, Adam, DaMonte, Grandy , Belo, and Grandy for the 1-3 it may be possible to keep Trent fresher and improve his shooting. Guessing it will come down to matchups and who has the hot hand. Also depends on the performance of Giorgi, Cole, BenV at the 4. And we are all assuming Jermaine isn’t a playing time factor after a year with Orlando. Tough not to be optimistic.

I don't see Trent coming off the the bench none I think they'll stay loyal to him also I look for that to be motivation for Trent to have a great senior year.

No advantage to bringing him off the bench if he will still play similar minutes (not sure what you meant by a "lot of minutes").

If the coaches really feel like he is too tired to shoot effectively, they can limit who and/or how he guards. I don't believe this plays a huge role though, because this past year's defense was a lot less aggressive. He was asked to guard good players, but because of his size, you really can't be too choosey on who he guards. In general, he'll guard the other team's smallest guard.

Interesting practice scrimmages:
Trent, Ayo, DaMonte, Grandy, and Kofi
Vs
Belo, Adam, Hutch, Cole, and Giorgi

Think they would be competitive?

I see Belo coming in for Adam and taking the point with Trent becoming the scorer. He was most effective as a freshman with TeJon at the point. Going to take some time to work out the chemistry but a much higher starting point than a year ago.

Didn't Trent guard the other team's best guard? I cannot remember any 6'6" or taller alpha guards we faced where he was deliberately assigned a smaller guard to guard.

1. What has you picking Hutch over known players like Giorgi / DMW?
2. What has you picking Hutch over other players like Grandison / BBV?

Do you know something about Hutch's current development, particularly his defensive abilities? Or are you basing this on his stats (particularly his 3pt shooting) coming in?
