Ok, I totally understand that position. I'm hoping that your wrong as well! We are kinda trending in the CB department right now but I know how fluid recruiting is so they say, lol.No, I’m saying that the chances of Jones committing to us on Monday is trending downwards from slim... to none ‼‼
Not saying it’s completely out of the realm of possibilities but it’s not looking good at this point in time.
When you have a team that just entered the conversation a week agoand is now the perceived leader
you start to wonder what other kinds of twists and turns this recruitment could take.
That’s why I said, if he does *ever* commit to us, it won’t be this Monday
I will drop a little positive news in this recruitment bubble that’s about to burst!

EDIT: To speak more clearly, I am Not liking these developments in the Jones recruitment at all. Nor am I liking the impact this might have on recruiting across the state and beyond our borders!! Like WTF
It is almost single-handedly elevating the Jones recruitment to epic levels of importance imo. If OA can’t pull this one out it could become a thorn in his side and be an unwanted trend that we do not want to see followed

I know he’s not mentioned in this article, but Peevy is the same coach who was just hired at DePaul who orchestrated all of this for Coach Cal at UK ...
Peevy set up the camps and the clinics and the negotiated the 800K price tag for these events in the DR when other schools would go down there for the same thing and spend 40K. That’s a lot of money to spread around! But anything goes for coach Cal and Kentucky...
DePaul recognized the source and hired the man (Peevy) from the DR, who is now calling the shots at DePaul. Allegedly he has just as much juice, if not more, in the DR than Antigua..
There all connected to the same guys (Antigua and Peevy that is).

y'all think that missing on jones and Weston and most likely Nesbitt gonna help us with the harder push for Bryce Hopkins or another Wing target.
The real dot connection will begin when Peevy lets Leitao go and a replacement needs to be named.

At best DePaul would serve as a stepping stone to any coach who could bring success there.

It will not be Nick. Peevy and OA were together at UK for 5 years. Some UK insiders think that the Wildcats will never win another NC without OA, because OA was so important to the success of that program. Heck, just take the guys off of Illinois that OA has his fingerprints on and where would be.??
Big, big fan of the staff BU has here at Illinois, big fan of OA and would hate to see him leave, but I'm gaining confidence in Underwood to find another really good assistant who can recruit well
like TC, where are we going with just Chin as the only effective recruiter on the staff? Are we going to replace him with Roger Powell (love the guy, but not a fit for this program under BU imo) or re-promote Jamal Walker??
Kentucky hasn’t had an AD / DeMarcus cousins type class or championship since OA left..
BU is a better coach imo, but we would be left for talent if that happens? Chicago???!
OA has recruited awesome, I wish he would stay here for many more years, but if he wasn't here Underwood would have a lot of money to find another ace recruiter - I'm not saying as good as OA, but someone who could still do well
This is a little before I started following Illini hoops, but wasn't everyone worried back when Lou Henson lost Tony Yates and then he was replaced by Jimmy Collins? That worked out pretty well
