Team needs balance and adding the ratings doesn’t reflect positions. Groce never had a highly rated center or PG. BU has already recruited two better centers (although one not highly rated) And four better PG’s than Groce ever had. Ratings are indicator but if they told the whole story Kentucky, Duke, etc would win every year. Part of evaluation must be fit for the team.
True rankings don't tell the whole story, but typically Duke and Kentucky are top 10 despite losing anywhere between 2-5 players a year to the NBA draft. You can't do that without consistently bringing in highly ranked players. If you don't have great talent, its really hard to stay relevant. Occasionally, you will see a team like Loyola-Chicago a few years ago where the right mix of players and scheme come together and make a run. On the other hand, a team like Kentucky can bring in 5 top 30 players every year, and figure it out from there. It's easier to be Kentucky than Loyola-Chicago. Fit matters, but it matters less.

Kentucky has won 1 championship in the last 20 yrs. UConn, Duke and UNC have won three in the same period. Obviously UConn, Duke and UNC recruited at a very high level but mixed highly rated recruits with upper class men to win the national championship. The one and done model was very successful in consistently winning records but not in championship terms.

The last thing in the process is THE school accepts the recruit's commitment. Supposedly according to some UK people, Hopkins has tried to "commit" twice and UK was not accepting either time.
BTW, Ashley goes to Miami, O.
So "according to some UK fans" Hopkins is being slow played by UK. Might explain why dad leans to U of I. I know I would see a situation of if your not priority now, how long will you be and want a better commitment. Interesting.

One more little tibdit to divulge, something I just realized TC is trying to get me to point out (You can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make 'em drink! 😉)

IF Bryce did indeed follow his Sister's on Twitter... (I don't do the Twitter gang 🤞🤙) Then by the looks of that picture, it should be painfully obvious...

That where there's smoke, there's 🔥😍🔥
Breaking: Hopkins does indeed follow the Underwood sisters on Instagram

Kentucky gets a pleasant surprise from the NCAA in that they have ruled that big men transfers, Olivier Sarr and Jacob Toppin are both immeditaley eligible.

whitesoxfan is the real deal. Probably the only guy over the years here who’s been able to wade through the bs and provide transparent information to us in a non-pretentious way. When he types, I read. Timing impeccable as always. Good to have you back my friend.

Agreed that he is good. I also have to throw a shout out to @stuemke5. Doesn’t come in often but when he gives us info it’s almost always spot on. He had the BU news when we hired him. He was correct on Nesbitt and others.

All I know is I appreciate everything they provide us on this board. So I want to thank both of them for what they do for us.

A kid like this with what we would have coming back and we could be looking at another top 10 ranking to start the 2021/22 season.

While it’s not always the case (sometimes the CBs are completely wrong), if a commitment is imminent, I’m guessing we will either see a run of changes or nothing will move.

So if he’s going to commit in a couple days, wherever the CBs are pointing has a high likelihood of being where he ends up.
