Whoever was worried about players transferring out if Lovie is fired, the flip side is the number of players transferring out if he's retained.

I think you'll see transfers out no matter what we do. Not much of a choice between a sinking ship and a complete rebuild.

Looking forward to that 2025 bowl game appearance.

If true, here's more evidence of the incompetence of this staff. Aside from the obvious loss of talent in Bonner himself, punishing a kid who opted out because he suffers from asthma is not going to help with other recruits and other players on the current squad who might be considering their options. I came into this season thinking Lovie had made some progress, but I've since realized I was very very wrong and there's really nothing going right with this program.

They're already probably the worst team in the Big Ten with a poorly rated recruiting class coming in.

On top of the asthma he also had a couple of very close family members pasd away just before the season that really made it hit home.. Ra'von is just a good dude that you should want to have around your program. Hes currently working on getting a masters in social work which isn't one of those joke degrees like recreation sports and tourism....(I know because I'm in the same classes 😂)

Did not know this, thanks for providing the additional context. Just makes the actions of the coaching staff even more baffling to me. This would bother me even if the team was playing well. Hope everything works out well for Ra'von.

IDK, I can’t see Lovie forcing guys out because of a COVID sit out. He may have told him realistically where he’s at on the depth chart which is likely pretty far down. I could be wrong, but it looks like he would have had a pretty limited role. I don’t blame him for looking to transfer, but I’m not sure bashing the staff is the best route to go.

Not doubting you, but it seem early yet for guys to be planning an exit.
Mississippi State has had 5-8 guys transfer out mid-season this year. Granted, Leach is new there and installing a completely new offense. Not a great sign for our program if that many scholarship players in Year 4.5 are choosing to leave before the season even ends.

Doesn't matter, you start loosing guys, does not look for recruiting. Can't afford to loose starters or backups and with protocols and injuries you need depth. Now players have a free year they will be looking around for a better situation.

This does not just impact Illinois. Both MI and MSU both, have already loss quite a few.

Delano Ware quits the team. Assume he will enter the portal.

It looks like Sims has entered the portal. I was wondering why he hadn't played this year. Didn't see the rb from ILL Ferndanzo (sp). Maybe we will some of our OL that hadn't play get some playing time. Norwood was also missing this year in getting some playing time.

Think I saw fedanzo play on special teams. A few games.
