The top 20 now might not be the top 20 when it's time for them to commit. Of course coaches can rescind offers at anytime but that's not how lovie is looking to build a program (right or wrong). I'm really not against us going to the sec style of recruiting. Offer nearly everyone, pull offers...

We are in that much debt and they were looking to add a hockey team? This is the most illinois thing I've ever heard. No wonder they decided against that huge stadium renovation a couple years ago.

Since there probably won't be bowls/ conference championships anyway I wish we could play a 13 game conference schedule this year. It would be near impossible logistically but I want to play a round robin the way God intended.

Im counting 13 of 21 recruits in Iowa's 2020 class with multiple p5 offers. I'm only counting one of our guys without p5 offers and 8 with multiple offers. Of course 13 vs 21 recruits makes this comparison pointless. To be clear they still get better recruits but we're not the only school taking...

I guess it really depends on what Lovie is going for. We could go with the Iowa/ Wisconsin strategy of getting lower rated recruits that have tools and fit the system which seems to be what he's going for now. Or we could go the Tennessee/ Ron zook route and chase as many high profile recruits...

That's why I wouldn't put too much stock into this graph although I find it interesting. I don't think it's controversial to say there is a correlation between proximity to recruits and recruiting success though. This graph would be more useful if it was 100 or 200 miles.

They also had an insane number of sports. Even after cutting 11 sports they still have 25 which is still a lot. We have 21.

Hypothetically speaking if we play a 10 game conference schedule with the extra game being home vs Michigan St, what would be considered a good season for us? If we played a normal 2020 schedule most fans would be happy with a 7-5 (4-5 conference) record. Would y'all be content with 4-6 assuming...

Part of me understands why some of these polls have us at the bottom of the conference. They probably look at our mediocre recruiting class rankings and our 6-7 record and think we are spinning our wheels at best. Meanwhile every other team in the division is getting better except maybe Iowa who...

Your thinking of it from a player welfare perspective althoughI think football has too many scholarships while baseball/softball doesn't have enough (I understand it doesn't make money in the B1G). I'm thinking of it from a parity perspective, right now Ohio St is pulling in ~25 players a year...

I've always thought the scholarship limit should be lowered to 70-75. The top teams would still horde talent but more of those high 3* and lower 4* players would trickle down. It would only help us

Considering the massive decline in football participation over the last decade I'm not sure if the 456th player now is better than 5 years ago. Its unclear when that will start trickling up to p5 football if it hasn't already. All points being made are good. Our defense has clearly improved and...
