Yesterday was rough..... Came in today thinking I might catch up on this thread and read a few pages. Decided I didn't need to read it all. From what I did read, I am happy to see the fans here mostly appreciative of the team and Underwood for the season. No use in beating them up over this...
Will be interesting to see the turn out. Roads should be fine but it is bitter cold here and the winds are expected to pick up. Showing -8 right now. Has only raised 2 degrees since 7:30 this AM. Those going need to be prepared for a nasty parking lot walk.
Somehow this momentum for the kingfisher has to be stopped. As I said before, it will become the mascot by default and we are seeing it happen right before our eyes. I haven't any clear favorite, but even Blocky is better .... LOL! Here is an AI generated Galloping Ghost mascot for you...
Lived here as a kid in the 60s, came back for school in the 70s, and came back to work on a master's in the 80s. Have been here ever since. Something about this place just sucks you in. Some people have posted some great stories. Nobody mentioned the Thursday beer and band nights at Chances...

The article talks about him putting in time to be a better basketball player and, more importantly, a leader for his new team. Not sure why he could not do that at Illinois. What was keeping him from stepping up for Illinois in Nov. and Dec. before he found how sick his dad was? Agree that...
Not sure where to put this. Explains the situation with Skyy Clark stepping away from basketball in January.

Finally finished reading the multitude of pages in this thread. Seems that a lot has been hashed through in these pages that doesn't need repeating by me. I will try to provide some insight in another direction. As a fan of Illinois basketball for 40 years, I have seen a lot. Players come...
