    Lute Olson passes away

He left Iowa who he had taken to the final four for a much lesser job at Arizona. Arizona had been in the WAC just a few years before Olson arrival and had done absolutely nothing in their few years in the PAC10. In his autobiography, the section on leaving Iowa is revealing. He talks about...

    NCAA Issues/Scandals/Corruption

Before I retired, I spent a lot of time in the deep south. The most reviled hated fan base in the SEC across the board. Obnoxious blowhards, Everybody hates LSU

Dolph Schayes, the last of the 2 hand set shot and he was about 6'9". What is really bothering Hoopsfan47 and me is that we both saw him play.

Merely an opinion but it seems if the school you are transferring from has no objections to immediate eligibility, they will quite often grant it. We are definitely heading toward immediate eligibility so it soon will be moot. I agree with Soulberries, the cuse makes a lot of sense. That zone...

My long deceased father in law knew a person who constantly complained about one physical ailment after another. After the ailing individual walked away one time my father in law looked at me and said "He enjoys poor health". That element is on every message board. They are not happy...

    Tony Yates passes away

Saw him play against St Louis U in 62. Didn't look to score, good point guard, cat quick. It was always 5 on 4 and you had the 4 because Yates would take your best player and stone cold shut him down. Great defensive player.

Reliving the heartbreak he gave us in the hall 2 years ago, I'd take him in a heartbeat. When he out hustled Kipper to the ball and went in and slammed it, I remember thing "why don't we get payers like him".

JG is a good human being but he was in the right spot at the right time (tOSU with Matta) to parlay that into a P5 head coaching job with a short stop at Ohio U.. However he is NOT a top shelf P5 coach and that became apparent as time went on. Again good guy but not in the same talent level as...

Blue bloods aren't recruiting 2 players who played on the same high school team. Blue bloods can tell the 5 star that he is the alpha and the other 4-5 stars they are recruiting are just spear carriers. Not that bluntly of course, you know, spin it.

Underwoods first 2 top shelf recruits were Orlando and Chin and they look to be 5 stars. I remember 20 years ago Loren Tate saying that Self's assistants of Norm Roberts and Billy Gillespie being the 2 best recruiting assistants Illinois had ever had. After eliminating Wake, Deron choose...
