I should add that in 104.2 minor league innings over the last two seasons, Horton has struck out a ridiculous 135 batters, with a WHIP of .984.

Cade Horton, 2022 1st round pick, 22 years old, consensus Top-50 prospect, 1.10 ERA in 16.1 innings at AA this year is being promoted to AAA. He’ll make his debut in MLB before the end of the season.

The issue with Alzolay is pretty simple. Last year he gave up 5 HRs in 64 innings. This year he’s given up 4 HRs in 10 innings. He’s leaving the ball up and it’s getting hammered. It should be fixable, but not sure you want to be using him in high leverage situations while he works out the kinks.

It would be very cool for the Cubs if both Keegan and Wesneski could go back to being a thing.

He’s a 2-time All Star who was pretty good for the Braves… a decade ago. He’s been hurt and/or bad for the last 5 seasons. Have to imagine they just grabbed him to eat a few innings until Steele and Taillon are back in a few weeks.

The Pacers are a fun, young team when Halliburton is healthy. Since coming back from injury, he isn’t quite on the Magic Johnson-esque tear he was on at the beginning of the season, but he’s still probably the best distributing point guard in the League.

I’d take that. Unfortunately, I don’t think we get to play half our games against the Rockies.

Rockies are mid-way through their 6th game of the season and Kris Bryant is 0-15 on the season. Just brutal what’s happened to him.

All kidding aside, there’s something about going directly from the ultimate win or go home sporting event of the NCAA basketball tournament to the 162-game grind of MLB baseball that makes it completely impossible for me - and I imagine a lot of fans - to have any perspective on the small sample...
