Not going to lie, the Brewers always whip us in the mascot portion of the competition. Benny going down the slide already wins, but then the sausage race just runs up the score.
The issue with Alzolay is pretty simple. Last year he gave up 5 HRs in 64 innings. This year he’s given up 4 HRs in 10 innings.
He’s leaving the ball up and it’s getting hammered. It should be fixable, but not sure you want to be using him in high leverage situations while he works out the kinks.
He’s a 2-time All Star who was pretty good for the Braves… a decade ago. He’s been hurt and/or bad for the last 5 seasons.
Have to imagine they just grabbed him to eat a few innings until Steele and Taillon are back in a few weeks.
The Pacers are a fun, young team when Halliburton is healthy. Since coming back from injury, he isn’t quite on the Magic Johnson-esque tear he was on at the beginning of the season, but he’s still probably the best distributing point guard in the League.
All kidding aside, there’s something about going directly from the ultimate win or go home sporting event of the NCAA basketball tournament to the 162-game grind of MLB baseball that makes it completely impossible for me - and I imagine a lot of fans - to have any perspective on the small sample...
