Yes, we know that Ohio also had 3 games in a row... The difference is this was their Superbowl and for us, this was a MAC team. Lack of energy isn't surprising. Just glad the cupcakes are out of the way so no more underestimating our opponents.

Trent will find his shot. 2 years of good shooting and 1 off year.... Yea, I think he's legit. Forever going to be one of my favorite Illinois players

I don't know if I'd say our attendance has been mediocre over the years. It's always been pretty solid. Speaking as a now less than 1 year removed graduate who went to practically every game. But yes - would be great to give these guys the love they deserve.

I think people are selling him short, and I don't know why. Yes, he had a rough Sophomore year, but he had to switch positions and adjust... Our issue when Giorgi was our starting center came from our guards not stopping people from getting to the paint. We're way more defensively sound and...

It's funny you say that because I feel like people will complain if we miss out on Mac and don't have a contingency plan. Better safe than sorry. I'm sure the staff is playing it safe.

Some really interesting comments by Luke Goode. Back to the note of how much a relationship impacts recruitment... Luke said when Jamall Walker led his recruitment - he had no interest in Illinois. Once Gentry came in, it made all the difference. He said his relationship with Gentry is what...

Having really good early games against top tier teams --- especially games where Kofi dominates would bode VERY well for Mac.

According to Ked, Mac is committing in December. Let's get the season off to a hot start and close this one. Fun fact: Mac is Haitian

To be honest, it really doesn't take that long for a team to be relevant. It only takes a couple of solid years. For someone just leaving High School, you have a very small sample size. You're likely to care more about where a team has been over the last 5 years as opposed to it's storied past.

People really underestimate the relationship factor in a recruitment. Feeling comfortable with someone makes all the difference. People had the same "shock" when we landed Kofi, Curbelo, etc. Relationships go a long way. It's not the end of the world. Tough miss, but there are others on the...

To be fair, we're stacked. Harder to sell guys on being "the guy" when you're loaded. Now it's on us to put a quality product on the court that inspires guys to take a chance.

Well, on to the spring we go. It sucks to get excited over these, but a lot of quality on the board still. Also the transfer market. The staff has emphasized they're being selective so I trust whoever they pick out. Disclaimer: Sturdy on Rivals just picked Creighton to land him

Agreed. Especially given them confirming he doesn't intend to push back.
