There were rumors in Lovie's first or second season that he didn't anticipate how hard the job would be and he wanted to quit, I wonder if those rumors were true. What a waste of 5 years if it was.
He coached in the XFL last year. Yes, College is much more of a grind and he'd have to give it up but he's still young and has that itch after 3 years out of the sport.
Bob Stoops is interested in coaching again and his wife loves Chicago. The question for Whitman is, does he think Stoops is committed enough because Illinois is a job where you're going to have to be 100% committed to get the results we all want as we saw with Lovie.

I haven't seen Bill O'Brien's name mentioned at all. Wouldn't that be considered a risky hire? He did well at Penn State and was decent as a coach for the Texans but him being a GM tore them apart
Please don't blame the refs. The Cockburn call was bad but the refs were awful all game for both sides. It completely ruined that game for me, but Illinois didn't lose because of it.
