Looks like Jay Bilas agrees with me in Dan's post below. He's saying the decision should go outside the NCAA. So, maybe it wasn't as cut and dry as you suggest, either.

An appeal to the NCAA could hurt the team. I'm saying they should go to court. The NCAA appears to be violating state law. A judge could grant an injunction and the NCAA would probably back off, since they aren't actually enforcing an actual rule. Either way, it wouldn't play out quickly.

The Illinois law on this makes it clear that the NCAA can't make any rules or punish an athlete for this. I would think a university lawyer could get an injunction for the season.

I don't know why Illinois couldn't fight it. The Illinois says that the NCAA can't make any rule preventing athletes from making money in NIL. So, if the NCAA is making the ruling now, it shouldn't be legal, especially when the NCAA is saying that it would now be permissible.

Was watching some highlights, and Ayo can get to the basket. I know he's not going to jump over people, but he can get to the hoop. He probably needs more strength to help him finish.

You're condescending reply and silly use of bolds doesn't change the fact that terrible play calls took away the chance of victory in a few games. To get better recruits, you have to show that the program is heading the right way, that the coaching is turning the program around. It's early still...

It's strange that BB's defense has been better than Lovie's, a defensive specialist.

...except, this could be a bowl team right now...I mean, this isn't the first game the coaches put the team at a disadvantage with the game on the line. I don't know if it's the OC or the head coach that made those calls, but it's hurt the team.
