I think Underwood believes his best chance is to sacrifice layups for pressure. They won't survive many games with good bigs because they have no interior defense. Otherwise we will be sitting in a zone all game and I don't think that fits his aggressive nature.

Sorry, shouldn't have generalized re: turnover to every player that left. And in many cases, one could call it a mutual parting of ways? Most definitely not a deal where the coaching staff was mourning the loss of certain players, let's leave it at that.

After talking to one of Underwood's former players from the 90's, the roster turnover was definitely coaching staff driven. Taking a chance on a guy in his fourth school in 6 years with a torn ACL says a lot about the staff's feelings of the 2017-2018 roster. Onward and upward, let's hope...
