Agreed! I think the human body is probably most able to recover quickly at the age these college kids are than the body of a 30-year-old. Mentally might be another issue, but physically, I don't think it would be that big of an issue.
I don't necessarily think a pure point guard and a scoring point guard are mutually exclusive. McCamey was truly both, averaging 6 and 7 assists his jr. & sr. year while also being the leading scorer. I think his situation with lack of other top scorers on his roster forced him to be the scorer...
I am not so sure that anyone they bring in is an instant starter at the 4 as mentioned earlier (at least that is how I take it as I fully expect Kofi back at the 5). Georgi will be back as a junior and I really felt he finally started to find himself at the 4 late in the season. I expect he will...
And three-point shooting. Iowa hitting 10 of 23, including big ones from Garza were huge. The three is the equalizer - see Purdue's romp over Iowa for verification. We need to hit some threes and stop the threes and not have the unforced turnovers like players stepping on the sideline with the...
How many state titles did Wayne McClain and Peoria Manual win in the '90s? Four consecutive wasn't it? I think that would qualify as a decade of dominance! Quincy in the early '80s was awfully good, as well, from Payne and the Douglas brothers to Klingler, etc.
It was McCamey. He could score and he could assist. Had a huge jr. year with big assist numbers. Just not a ton of talent around him. Frazier was a PG, but not on McCamey's level at all offensively.
Well three of the five starters are either freshmen or sophomores and then Griffin is a soph. So you have only four upperclassmen - two seniors, two juniors - meaning half of your top 8 are underclassmen and seven of your 11 who play are underclassmen. So they are certainly more young than old.
