It looks to me that our AD has seriously reduced the amount of money in the assistant coach pool. I’m sure that the last few hires have been much less expensive that previous.
Totally, totally agree.
Josh I know you respect Coach Smith but don’t forget that your are being paid to supervise him. Your not much of a manager if you go along with this.
Let’s see. Your OK with Lovie continuing as DC after our record as one of the worst defenses in the country last year. It seems that you are also OK with a totally inexperienced 20 something as LB coach who wouldn’t be coaching at a High School if his last name wasn’t Smith.
Have I got this right?
The issue with young Master Miles Smith is a distraction.
The real issue is the fact that Coach Smith has not been able to find a quality DC coach to come to Illinois. This is very telling on what members of the coaching fraternity think of our University and the future of Coach Smith.
I, like I believe most of you, have no personal experience to judge the coaching or recruiting ability of the young Mr. Smith.
All I know for sure that if this doesn’t work the senior Mr Smith will be out of a job.
The time frame for naming a DC is very troubling.
Team after team has named assistant coaches and here we sit with nothing. Lovie better have a exceptional name in mind or everyone will be disappointed.
This has gone on way, way too long.
