2. Mike Davis. His commitment was announced in some local Virginia newspaper. No one had ever heard of him and he didnt have a recruiting profile at the time. Everyone thought it was a fake story.
Jeremy Werner, who is the sites CEO, is by far the best and most realistic man covering Illini sports today so I'm not sure how accurate that is. But he more or less gave up covering basketball through the site so I gave up my subscription.
Hopefully hes right this time but Piper is always over estimating Illinois chances at anyone. Werner really needs to take back the basketball coverage.
The head coach of the University of Illinois basketball should have at least spent one day in Chicago. Probably a lot more too, but seriously this is not a good look. Underwood deserves criticism for not having done so.
2014 the non-conference schedule was #278. The Big Ten just happened to be a gauntlet. 2013 Groce didnt really set that schedule and publicly complained about it. Non-con was still only 185 but I'd say it actually felt tougher than that.
