No, it does not. The kid has played three games of football. Three. Only one of which against a decent team (Providence Catholic, who stomped Morgan Park). This kid must have NFL level athleticism, because why else would you offer a kid who has played for less than two months? Who on staff has...

Key is the ultimate "project" - a big bodied basketball player who reports indicate just switched to football this season. There is no tape on him because apparently he has played only three games of H.S. football. If the Google machine is correct, it also appears that the kid is at his third HS...

Three things: safeties, don't let a receiver get behind you. This is usually taught in Pop Warner.

There are nearly 60,000 students and university employees. One would think that selling them on spending eight Saturdays in Memorial Stadium should be easier than selling to those who need to drive a few hours to get there.

Gritty wrote: "This is by no means a great job, but it's not one of the very worst by any stretch. It's not Kansas or Rutgers." Agreed. Illinois has several things going for it that the majority of college coaching jobs do not: 1. Membership in arguably the second best conference in the...

11:00 am starts + sticking students in the end zone does not help. Believe it or not, there are people whose actual job at DIA is to sell tickets and create an attractive game day experience. Those people are failing and need to be replaced if they can’t figure out a way to attract people...

It has to be someone who knows and has been successful in the college game. It has to be a staff that has shown it can teach fundamentals. No NFL retreads.

52-17 Nebraska, and I agree that the Huskers are not very good. Any illusions that Lovie is going to turn this around will die under the lights.

Eastern Michigan 34, Illinois 31 POSTGAME

The videos posted by Illinois Football Breakdown are eye-opening in a very bad way. Make one think that our assistants with very little teaching experience...might not be very good at teaching. Go figure.

Game Thread: Illinois vs Eastern Michigan

Peters has NOT been the problem. Play calling questionable. OL having another poor game. Defense awful. Way too many penalties. Terrible clock management. Coaches and players have got 15 minutes now to get their heads on straight.
