First it was an away game in the Big 10 against a good opponent. If you look at Michigan's schedule I think prior to that they'd only played us and NU on the road. Second, Teske was pretty much the only one on that night, and Third Happ had a "Giorgi vs Minny" type game where he pretty much abused everything inside. Teske is tough to shoot over, but Happ is very good at multiple pivots to get space.

Wisconsin has won the last 13 in a row vs. the Illini. Illini fans need to have zero expectations (a loss), you will never be disappointed. Go Illini.

Wsiconsin will spread you out and get the ball to, Happ. They lead the B10 in 3 pt. %. So, what you gonna do. I'd try to pressure the ball and stay with the shooters. Happ, scores 400 so be it, Have to be efficient on offense and out score Happ.

Don't worry, I'll be in The Hall tonight!! I take full credit/blame win or lose!! I can handle it!

The problem we run in to (ran in to it last year vs the Badgers) was we play great D on them for 25+ seconds and then they make that one last pass to an open guy and they nail the shot. We need to be able to play a full 30 seconds of tough, pressure D or we need to hope they miss their shots and we can get points in transition. Ideally, both happen.

Unless Happ gets in early foul trouble (we need to feed Giorgi early and often to try to make that happen) we just have to concede his points and beat the other 4 guys on the floor.

Vegas line has dropped to Wisconsin -4 from an open of -6. Hmmm...

I am hard at work today and wanted to do some 2019 draft research. Found this aggregate draft.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/hoopsh...k-draft-big-board-rumor-update-prospects/amp/

Ayo is ranked #59 and only ESPN has him getting drafted and that is at #25(ranking).

The Iowa game was a little bit of Ayo coming back to Earth after a superb 4 game stretch. Another year of physical development and a few skill improvements and he can go from 2nd round to mid to early 1st round in 2020.

I actually ran across this today on nbadraft.net about Ayo. They had him as the 4th best prospect in the conference currently.

4) Ayo Dosunmu, Illinois

A bit overshadowed by the star of Romeo Langford, another talented freshman chose to stay home for college instead of searching for greener pastures at one of the blue blood programs. Dosunmu, a Chicago native, is generating NBA buzz in spite of his team’s struggles. He’s a well-rounded scorer, a guy who can get to the rim but who has also hit nearly 40% of his three’s this season, an area of concern on some scouting reports prior to the season. He has a good physical profile for a combo guard, having the ability to score from the but also developing the ability to be a distributor at the next level. He may not generate a lot of buzz this season at Illinois, but don’t be surprised if you hear his name called in the first or even the lottery this summer.

Hack-a-Happ when he gets it in good position down low, but not with Giorgi. Use help or Samaba to hack him. AJ, you're first up! Dude is a brutal FT shooter.

All that Illinois money recognizing that this team is just not that bad, particularly at home. 6 points for a home dog in the B1G was just too much, thus the bid down.

78-73 Illini victory. Ayo goes for 21-6-5, and we see 13 pts from Aaron

We either kill ourselves to stop Happ down low and take our chances on outside shooters (ala our game against Iowa) or we let Happ get his as he can and run shooters off the 3pt line. Giorgi is the first big we've had in a while that can at least keep close to Happ on footwork and bumping - hopefully the refs let them play - but I'll bet Happ gets alot of calls.

Samba will get killed on his pivots and fakes I am afraid. We have to keep him from backing down to within 5 feet - thats pretty much his entire game re: scoring. Either way we've got to make him run and work hard on offense and defense - he does get tired.

I would be very shocked if he were a lottery pick and I can't imagine what the writer sees to make him think that is a possibility. Depending on how he finishes the season, I do see first round potential.

NBAdraft.net may have Ayo as the 4th best prospect in the B10, but as of 1-16-19 he is not projected in either round 1 or 2 on there board.

As somebody who's obsessed with the draft, NBADraft.net was always several notches below Draft Express.
