He’s not Khalil Tate but Brandon Peters is athletic and can move well in and out of the pocket. This kid is a significantly better prospect than both Tommy Stevens and Matt Fink. Peters is the definition of a gem for a program like ours.

Same. This news legitimately shocks me.

No, this is cynicism to the max. Luke Ford was a top 60 recruit in the country with a composite score of 97 and tight ends absolutely, positively, 110% can have as big of an impact as an actual receiver. Whether he's eligible is another story but Luke Ford is far and away as impactful a player...

He's also got 2 ACLs tears in 2 consecutive seasons. Hard for me to view him as a better 2020 option than the guys we already have here.

I'm aware, the strategy put forth by Fields' representation was well reported. I was referring to Luke Ford when I stated quote "I don't know how he gets the waiver" in response to the question of whether Ford was next.

For me, with the way our roster shapes up now and in the years coming, 2020 is where I see the "This is our year" blinking road-sign. The only way I'll feel comfortable with the ability of this HC and staff to deliver the on-field product I believe we'll be capable of in 2020 is with a tangible...

I still don't see how he gets the waiver but honestly, who even knows how this process works anymore? I sure don't.

Could be, yeah. Someone brought up just a day or two ago that he was essentially going to sign, wanted to point out that i hadn't actually seen/heard that anywhere else but it would be a good thing were it to come to fruition.

Perfectly logical view point. I personally, however, do not see it that way.

This is probably where things get gray, for me at least. Define "ever so slightly" in terms of what isn't acceptable. The prevailing thought seems to be 6 wins, "bowling or nothing". To me, that's a little tough to get behind. Winning 6 games isn't the end all be all for me if the 6 games we...

Which is fully understandable. While disappointing for us, anyone using this as a sign of our imminent demise is off base and doing so for reasons with underlying intentions.

This is one that really stings but is fully understandable. Never mind the fact that's joining the staff of a person he knows, he made what, 225K last year? He's going to make a lot more than that now.

Someone earlier mentioned Jarcadia Wright would be on board. I haven't heard that anywhere but he would be a solid late-period signing. Adam Sherrif is still out there as well, we've shown interest in him previously. Have to wait and see what happens with Rajae Johnson's eligibility. We most...

Phenomenal post that could have ended after the first sentence. If you have $5, you cannot walk in to a store and buy something that costs $10. If you have 19 available scholarships and you bring in 3 transfer students, you cannot sign 27 HS seniors ala Nick Saban. Nothing about that should be...

Hard to say what he'd make as an assistant positional coach. Salaries across teams there vary wildly. At the around 340-350K he was making though, it's highly doubtful he went backwards in compensation. The real rub here is simple, did he leave solely because of the current staff makeup or is...

Losing Jakai Clark still hurts but that's not in any way tied to this, neither is Ira Henry's decision. Jeff Woods was a kid we probably got in on too late. Really not sure how it played into the decision of guys like Claiborne but all in all, it's hard to see this having played a significant...

What do we have right now, 3 open scholarships? Even if we used all 3 to sign HS seniors (Which we will not, as we definitely need to leave an open spot to see if Khalil Tate's status changes), that only gives us a recruiting class of 16 kids. 247, Rivals, ESPN, whoever won't allow those types...

Was definitely hoping for another OL and another DB, we'll see if anything shakes out there as the day wraps. I feel good about where we are at the offensive skills positions. Overall, no matter how you slice, what an amazing recruiting period it has been. Far exceeded my initial expectations.

Not quite sure what you're meaning there, are you asking if I'd prefer Miles Smith in a QC/Assistant LBs coach type role behind someone more experienced? If so, my answer is a resounding yes.

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. Don't like the hire, but scratch my head at about 90% of the comments related to it.
