1. Definitely Jereme Richmond considering he had 4 years of hype behind him.
2. Mike Davis. His commitment was announced in some local Virginia newspaper. No one had ever heard of him and he didnt have a recruiting profile at the time. Everyone thought it was a fake story.
Jeremy Werner, who is the sites CEO, is by far the best and most realistic man covering Illini sports today so I'm not sure how accurate that is. But he more or less gave up covering basketball through the site so I gave up my subscription.
The head coach of the University of Illinois basketball should have at least spent one day in Chicago. Probably a lot more too, but seriously this is not a good look. Underwood deserves criticism for not having done so.
2014 the non-conference schedule was #278. The Big Ten just happened to be a gauntlet. 2013 Groce didnt really set that schedule and publicly complained about it. Non-con was still only 185 but I'd say it actually felt tougher than that.
Chris Holtman took over a program that was 17-15 the year before. Hes 30-9 since.
Archie Miller took over a program that was 18-16 the year before. Hes 20-16 since with a nearly ranked team.
Brad Underwood took over a program that was 20-15. Hes 15-22 since.
