Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (June 2019)

I believe both the offer and the crystal ball pick came during the Groce tenure.

    Wisconsin 64, Illinois 58 POSTGAME

Thank God you did. Otherwise, there’d be no one to so nearly track scholarships on here.

I have no information either way, but the two are not mutually exclusive. It is entirely possible that they are more confident about getting him in post OV, while still not expecting him to be admitted.

Illinois Hoops Recruiting Thread (February 2019)

Class of '13 here. Nnanna was 2 years ahead of me. I never met him, but during my freshman year I was taking a math test during my lunch period. We had the same teacher for different subjects. I was taking the test while he had her class. Seeing a scrawny freshman in a room full of juniors, he...

In that regard, it reminds me somewhat of the Tamell Pearson recruitment.

    Illinois Marathon / Half Marathon

For Thai, I'd recommend Bangkok Thai on Green, just west of Fifth and Pho Cafe Thai Kitchen on Green, between Sixth and Wright. For Chinese, I'd suggest Golden Harbor on Neil, just South of Springfield or Cravings, on Wright, just North of Green. Golden Harbor is the only sit down restaruant...

    Illini Basketball 2017-2018

Haha yep! I think earlier in here it was mentioned the treadmill being set to 15mph which is much more believable. As a reference, I think Mike Dudek tops out at like 22mph. Also could be a case of hyperbole by Kipper.

    Illinois Football Recruiting Thread

I believe what happened with that situation Wisconsin pulled his offer when he posted on Twitter that he received an offer from another school. I think a Georgia offer? Wisconsin did not like that. So not quite the same situation. While I find both sad and unfortunate, I don't think our...

As I noted, we are a very different case then those schools. Where I think we could benefit is with increased selectivity, not increased enrollment.

I don't have any real evidence to support this theory, but, under the assumption that lowering academic standards would result in a better team and more wins, I think that it could actually raise the average academic level of the school. High school students like to apply to schools with good...

Game Thread: Illinois at Michigan State

I think that it's important to note that the game against Oakland was their first without Valentine. They've had 2 or 3 games since to adapt. Tonight's MSU is significantly better and more cohesive than against Oakland

It's more complicated than that. Especially, given our depth issues, Valentine's replacement > Kendrick's replacement

    Game Thread: Illinois vs Missouri

I don't think we can read too much into that. If I'm not mistaken, teams can only host recruits for home games. This year Missouri is home.

    Darius Paul dismissed from team

Not that this excuses Darius of his actions or possibly Groce (We have no idea what restrictions he put on Darius while on the trip, but according to Sam Maniscalco, who has gone on two foreign trips, going out and drinking does occur on these trips...

    2015 Illinois Baseball Thread

I understand and agree with what you're saying. I might not have made myself clear. I was pointing out the fact that we're on ESPNU as opposed to ESPN/ESPN2 rather than our time slot. For example, on Saturday ESPN has given preference to the ULL/LSU by putting them on ESPN2 instead of us.
