Looked like he was dragging a little at the end of the 3rd period. When was the last time he logged these kind of minutes?
Edit: looks like he’s getting a break now. Assuming Portland will want to ride the hot hand as long as it’s working.
Meyers Leonard getting it done tonight. Didn’t see the first half. Thought my son was pulling my leg when he told me Meyers had 25 pots at halftime. I don’t think he has scored in the 2nd half but, has several rebounds, a steal, an assist and a charge taken that I’ve seen.
Only got to see the last period tonight. Sounded like the Blues started out strong, got the lead early and held on for the win. These last 3 games should be something. Yes, I think it will take all 3 to decide it.
They almost seem more likely to give up a short handed goal than score on the power play sometimes. I believe tonight was the 2nd short handed they gave the last couple series. Dallas had several good chances I thought.
How long can we keep Carpenter in the leadoff spot batting .200? I know he had the day off today but, believe he was 0-5 in one of those 2-1 losses to Pirates. Seems like Fowler might be a better lead off option at this point.
Blues power play looked disorganized at best. Seemed like they could never keep the puck in the zone. Constantly regrouping. Credit the Stars penalty killing but, would have liked to see some more control and pressure on those.
I would like to believe we are solidly in with a good RPI but, last year still lingers in my mind. Thought we had a good shot last year. Was not to be.
Any case big win tonight to start the series. Fisher has really looked good.
Was thinking the same thing. That seemed to be the beginning of the end for our basketball relevance. I recall that some writer had us penciled in as a 1 seed before that game happened. Can’t remember the exact wording but, essentially calling it an award for multi year consistency.
